Igbogbo Magical Festivista: Seriki, Dragon, TySleek, Other Artistes Thrill Igbogbo Residents

It was another wonderful experience that will linger in the memories of Igbogbo residents for a long time, when the Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) staged a mega concert which witnessed many stars mounting the stage to thrill the crowd.

The concert, which was staged at the Agarawu/Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Road junction, on the Xmas eve, lasted till early morning on the Xmas day, was tagged, ‘Igbogbo Magical Festivista’.

The star artiste, Seriki, had a great time interacting with his fans in Igbogbo, and delivered a great performance that wow hundreds of residents in attendance.

DeepEe D’Dragon, the rap act of the ‘Omoluabi’ TV Show fame and TySleek, were also on fire and proved to the invited artistes and guests that Igbogbo has talents in abundance that can make impacts in the entertainment business.

Other artistes that performed were Teefamous, Ijebu Boy among others, while DJ Rayce did a yeoman’s job on the turntable, dishing out sounds for the crowd to enjoy and a presenter on the IKD 106.9FM, Still Young, was the anchor at the concert.

In attendance at the concert were Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Chief Host and Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Chairman, Builder Sesan Daini, Secretary to the Council, Barr, Ade Ayeni, the Olisa of Ipakodo, High Chief Sotomiwa, Council Leader, Igbogbo/Bayeku, Hon. Nurudeen Alimi, Council legislators, Supervisory Councilors, President, Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), a businessman and community leader, Alhsji Ganiyu Olubodun, Comrade Kazeem Ogunmuyiwa, Alhaji Ganiyu Olubodun, a businessman and Chairman, NYCN Lagos, Comrade Lekan Oba Biliamin and Barr. Leke Bakare among others.

Builder Daini, speaking at the concert, said that the initiative is to provide a platform for talents in Igbogbo, to showcase themselves, promote the local economy and advance peace among the people.

While asking the youths to desist from using drugs, the council boss also assured that the Igbogbo Magical Festivista will be an annual celebration.

“I thank you all for coming today to celebrate our town; our kingdom. I just want to say thank you for gracing the maiden edition and by God’s grace, we would be having this again next year”, he said.

“The intention is to celebrate our local contents; the intention is to promote economy within our LCDA; to promote peace and unity; talk to people on how to shun crime and go against acts that cause insecurity.

“Our intention for this programme majorly is to go against anything that is not in support of peace and promotion of unity. I thank you all and God bless”, he said.

The Council Chairman, who stated that drug abuse is a major problem in the council, said that youths can live a better and active life without drugs.

Area Commander, NDLEA Ikorodu, Mr Steven Ogunsua, commended the Chairman for consistently convening Peace and Security meeting every month, and for inviting the agency to celebrate and speak with residents of Igbogbo.

He charged residents, especially the youths, to desist from using hard drugs that would destroy their lives.

High Chief Sotomiwa, who also addressed the large audience, also commended the council for the initiative.

TySleek entertaining the crowd

There were dancing and competitions at the concert with participants winning gift items.

Many young and upcoming artistes were given opportunities to showcase their talents.
