Rep. Benson To Spearhead Massive FG’s Food Programme Soon

-As 500 residents get October edition of ‘Apo Anu’ food support

Residents of Ikorodu, especially those who are vulnerable and in needs, should be expecting a massive food intervention programme by the Federal Government. This was revealed by the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson.

The Chairman, House Committee on Defense who also hinted that he will be the one spearheading the distribution of the food intervention, while assuring that the food packages will get to the every nook and cranny of Ikorodu federal constituency comprising of Ikorodu Local Government and five Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

Benson, who expressed sadness over the level of vulnerability in the society, disclosed this at his Ikorodu Constituency Office on Saturday, at the October 2023 edition of his monthly ‘Apo – Anu’ Food Bank program which has been in existence for about 10 years.

Another 500 constituents received rations for the food support in commemoration of the 2023 World Food Day.

“It feels good and sad as well, to see people hungry and vulnerable. We are doing our best and my real wish is to see them (beneficiaries) giving other people food as well. That is why I said is good and bad”, Rep. Benson said.

“We will be having a major food intervention coming up soon. It is being coordinated by the Renewed Hope of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We are keying in and it is going to be very big”, he said about the coming FG’s food program.

“We want to get them to the nooks and crannies of the vulnerable people. So, we are going to be ruthless in implementing the scheme. It is going to come up soon.

“It is going to be powered by the federal government. They want to feed as many people as possible. I am going to spearhead it for my federal constituency, and we are going to make sure that as many people get food on their tables.

“Like the Yoruba saying: ”Ti ounje ba ti ku ro ninu ise, ise bu se” (Once food is available, poverty will be reduced)”, Rep. Benson said.
