Who Are The Last Five Aspirants Eyeing The Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Chairmanship Seat On APC Platform?

Kunle Adelabu

Aroyewun, Andu, Bakare and Adelakun

From about 15 aspirants some of whom started their campaigns since last year till last week, when the All Progressives Congress, APC, released its electoral guidelines and directed interested aspirants vying for the Chairmanship and Councillorship positions across the 57 LGAs and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state; the number of those aspiring to succeed Builder Sesan Daini, the incumbent chairman who only has few weeks in office to complete his two terms of eight years has reduced to five.

While the chairmanship form was N5.5 million, those aspiring to be councillors were made to buy theirs at N600, 000. At the end of the collection and submission last weekend, only five aspirants collected the Chairmanship forms, while there are 11 aspirants for the five Councillorship positions.

THE IMPACT gathered that some of the aspirants were unable to pick the forms because of political reality while others cannot mobilise the needed funds to purchase the form.

It was gathered that notable leaders of the party, such as Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Bashorun, chieftain of the GAC, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, also a chieftain of the GAC, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, former Vice Chairman, APC Lagos East and Builder Sesan Daini, Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA among others have agreed that the Justice Forum should produce the candidate for the APC in the forthcoming council elections in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA after the intervention of Rep. Babajimi Benson, the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency. And it was also gathered that the Asiwaju Bashorun led JF has presented Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), who emerged as the most preferred aspirant in his group’s in – house arrangement, to the leadership and he has been adopted as the party’s candidate.

But despite this, some aspirants still went ahead to collect the nomination forms. At the end of closing of submission five aspirants – Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA) (JF). Nasril Titilope Andu Balogun (TMM/TMG), Pastor Abayomi Adelakun, TMM/TMG, Olakunle Bakare and Mr Sanni Ishola.

These are the aspirants that will be attending the screening from Tuesday, April 29, and possibly go into the primary elections if cleared by the screening committee.

THE IMPACT, after serious search and compilation presents the profile of the five aspirants focusing on their age, academic background/qualifications, community engagement, political activities and professional membership/training.
