The immediate past Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, and the representative of Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon. (Chief) Sanai Oyeniran Bolanle Agunbiade (SOB), has said that the feat achieved by the Principal, Oriwu College Senior Model, Ikorodu, gladdens the hearts of the lkorodu residents.
Mr Akeem Oladimeji Bello, had, on Wednesday, won the Presidential prize as the Overall Best School (Public) Principal in Nigeria. He was presented with an award and a brand new space car for the feat during the 2023 World Teachers’ Day Celebration, at the Eagle Square in Abuja.
Agunbiade, who was also the first and the immediate past National Chairman, Nigerian Majority Leaders Forum, also described the development as a great feat for Ikorodu Division, Education District II and Lagos State in general, in a statement he signed today.
“It is gladdening that the principal of Oriwu College, Ikorodu, has been declared as winner, overall Best Principal/administrator of Public school in Nigeria, and received the 2023 Presidential award”, Hon. Agunbiade said.
“Pastor Akeem Oladimeji Bello is the current principal of the premier Secondary School in Ikorodu Division, and the award winner that has brought home this prestigious award from Abuja.
“Among several Principals/ Administrators of public schools in Nigeria, our own principal /administrator of Oriwu College, has been declared the best to win the presidential award. What a great thing for Ikorodu! What a super feat for Lagos State and Education District II of the State!”.
The former representative, who set the record of serving for four consecutive terms of 16 years in representing the people of Ikorodu Constituency I, also stated that the feat confirmed the 2022 award as an outstanding Principal in Africa by Mr Akeem Bello.
“It is of reckoning that just last year, 2022, you won the Africa brand of the award when you emerged as and was celebrated as The 2022 Africa Outstanding Principal of the Year”, he said.
“This most recent award from the Eagle Square, Abuja, on Thursday, October 5th, 2023, confirmed the earlier award. Congratulations”, he said.
