BRT Corridor Rehab: LASG Announces Traffic Diversion At Ogolonto

The Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, has announced that traffic will be diverted from the Ogolonto junction, Ikorodu area of Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, starting from Friday, May 12 to Friday, May 19, 2023.

According to a statement signed today by Honourable Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, the diversion is due to the ongoing rehabilitation of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Corridor, from Ikorodu to Stadium.

“In line with the ongoing rehabilitation of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Corridor from Ikorodu to Stadium, the Lagos State Government has announced that traffic will be diverted at Ogolonto Junction from Friday, 12th to Friday, 19th May, 2023, ( duration of one week) to enable seamless repairs of the failed section”, the statement said.

Allaying the fears of the citizenry, the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde explained that Traffic inbound Majidun and beyond from Oba Sekumade, would be diverted to Agric to make a U-turn to access their desired destinations, while Traffic inbound Oba Sekumade from Agric, will be diverted to Majidun to make a U-turn and continue their journeys.

He reaffirmed that the rehabilitation works will be carried out at night to minimize inconveniences for motorists, adding that Traffic Personnel will be deployed to ensure seamless movement.

The Transport Commissioner urged motorists to cooperate with the intervention put in place to manage traffic effectively.
