Dr Ajenifuja’s Death: He Lived Unparalleled Life Of Service To God, Humanity – Sir Elesho

The Agbaakin of Ikorodu Kingdom, Sir (Otunba) Ayodele Elesho, KJW, has described the life of the foremost paediatrician in Africa, Dr Bola Ajenifuja, who passed on today at the age of 99, as unparalleled services to God and humanity.

He said that the late renowned elder statesman was, until his death, attending to patients free at his private resident, especially children.

Elesho, who is a former Commissioner for Information in Lagos State, in a statement on the death of the late prominent Ikorodu son, said that the foremost medical practitioner had gone home to rest after many decades of service to humanity.

“An iconic Medical Practitioner with unparalleled service to God & humanity, one of the best and distinguished Paediatricians of note, not only in Lagos State, Nigeria & Africa, and indeed the whole world. Our own Dr Bolaji Ajenifuja, who just passed on to rest with his maker, died at the ripe age of 99”, Sir Elesho said.

“Papa Ajenifuja was a Medical giant of no small measure, who used his entire life, wealth of experience, personal resources & time for the service of humanity.

“Even at his old age, Dr Bolaji Ajenifuja was still seeing patients for free in his private residence, where he created a service Clinic, diagnosing & treating our children pro bono.

“Dr Bolaji Ajenifuja came, he saw, he worked, he served meritoriously and conquered. No wonder God gave him good health & long life”.

Sir Elseho also said that Dr Ajenifuja’s life of service is a lesson that must be emulated by all.

“Papa was very active medically in the area of Paediatric, almost to the last day of his life. His life was a great lesson to us all, and worthy of emulation by all and sundry”, he said.

“Papa has done his best and l am sure that posterity has already written his name with gold and will be a reference point for many decades to come.

“I pray that Almighty Allah will accept his soul into Aljanah Firdaus and grant fortitude to his children, grand and great-grand children, his entire family, as well as the good people of Ikorodu kingdom.
