The Olowogbowo Fanti Carnival group, on Monday, December 26, 2022, stormed the Kosoko Palace at Ereko, Lagos, to commemorate the 171 years of the bombardment of Lagos by the British Navy, with the Oloja of Lagos – elect, Prince Abiola Kosoko.

The British Navy, on December 26, 1851, attacked Lagos in what is today known as ‘Exodus’. The attack led to the movement of King Kosoko and his followers out of Lagos.

Prince Kosoko, who welcomed the group in colorful attires, announced that the date is significant to not only Lagos, but entire country and Africa as a whole.

He said that the day has been registered as an annual event in the calendar of the King Kosoko Memorial Museum, which, according to him, will be celebrated with fanfare.
