Igbogbo Platinum Lions Club Supports 50 Youths, Traders With Cash, Equipment

The President, Igbogbo Platinum Lions Club 2022/2023, Lion (Mrs) Ashake Wahab presenting cash support to a youth trading at the Igbogbo Night Market on Saturday. With them are chieftains of the club and other beneficiaries.

As part of the efforts by the Lions Club International in supporting youths and creates employment, the Igbogbo Platinum Chapter of the club has provided financial and material supports for about 50 youths and traders in Igbogbo Kingdom.

The President, Igbogbo Platinum Lions Club 2022/2023, Lion (Mrs) Ashake Wahab, said that the gesture was Lions Club’s way of supporting youths and creating employment in the society.

Among those were also provided with the financial support are traders.

The club had earlier presented Washing Machine (1), Sewing Machine (3), Motorcycle (1) and Tricycle (1) to some youths in the community as empowerment,

“It is youth empowerment, a programme by the Lions Club to support our youths and encourage them to go into small scale businesses”, she said.

His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo hosting the President, Igbogbo Platinum Lions Club 2022/2023, Lion (Mrs) Ashake Wahab and members of her club at his palace.

“We believe that the N10, 000 and N20,000 extended to them would go a long way in supporting their businesses and make them productive.

“There are also petty traders like vegetable and pepper sellers among others, we believe we can help too”, she said.

Lion Ashake also said that equipment were made available to some youths to assist them in starting businesses that would earn them income.

“We also assisted some with washing machine, motorcycle, sewing machine and tricycle (Marwa)”, the Lion President said.

“In actual fact, one of our Leos who is into laundry business got the washing machine”.

Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, who was visited by the members of the club, commended the gesture.

The royal father, who said that he was proud to identify with the club, said that the business support would go a long way in creating employment and make people productive.

“This is a good one and I want to thank you and commend you for complementing our efforts with your own little way of putting smiles on the faces of our people which is what we have known Lions Club for”, the royal father said.

“I want to once again commend you for living up to the expectations. Of course, I don’t expect anything less. As a Honourary Fellow of this noble club, I want to say that I am proud to be associated with you and thank you for putting smiles on the faces of my people and doing what God has asked us to do in assisting our neighbours and be our brother’s keeper”.

The royal father also solicited for more of such support from the Lions Club, while he also prayed for its members.

“I want to say a big thank you to the President and all members of his team and to say that Igbogbo community appreciates you and like Oliver Twist, we asked that this must be a continuous exercise in order to enable many others to also benefit from the gesture”, Oba Kasali said.

“I pray that God will continue to bless you. Thank you for doing this today for God and for the sake of humanity”.
