“I am also welcoming our parents specially because so far, VJS has a set of best parents. Thanks for providing for all the needs of our pupils and most importantly, paying their school fee regularly”, she said thankfully.

“I thank all our parents for coming out to grace the occasion despite their busy schedule.

She also took out time to appreciate the school staff for their dedication to the school.

“I am also saying a big thank you to my great staff. They are one of the best in the world.

While stating that she would miss her graduating students, Mrs Nwobodo charged them to be good ambassadors of the school .

“I am going to miss my pupils signing out today and my advice to you all is that you should put everything you’ve learnt here into practice and be good ambassadors of this great school”, she said.

“We would never forget how we had to stay at home and learn online through Whatsapp videos and zoom classes, no physical contact with our teachers and friends for 8 months, struggling with phones for our online classes with our parents who were also working from home using their phones most of the time”, he recalled.

“It was even more difficult and challenging for our colleagues, whose parents do not have ‘smart’ phones, to join the online classes. This means that for 8 months, they had no classroom learning.

He said that the experiences at the VJS were mixed for him and his mates that were passing out.

“Each of us has had our own unique experiences at Victory Joy School (VJS); a combination of good times and bad times. But here we are today to celebrate our first achievement towards our future destinations”.

“I also want to thank my very dear friend, Mrs Nwobodo. We’ve been working together for a very long time, she’s diligent, hard-working, and strong.

“I’m very sure all parents here can testify to it that she’s not just a proprietress, but also a mother. Please, we should all give her a big round of applause. I also thank the group of staff of the great VJS school.

Advising the parents, Dr Aderemi said that parents must continually watch and monitor their children and should stop getting disappointed in them when they are not doing well in a particular area that they want, rather, they should endeavour to detect areas where such children are interested in.

“Firstly, I will tell our parents that they should leave these children when they are doing what they are not supposed to do, You must continue to pray while laboring for them until they become what you want them to become in life. My mother also did all that she could do and today she’s very happy because of my life”, Dr Aderemi said.

“Secondly, parents should stop getting disappointed when their kids are not doing very well in Mathematics. Remember one thing that not all of us will become a medical doctor. Endeavour to pay attention to them to know what other areas that they are good at.

“I was trained in the University to become a farmer, and till this day, I haven’t used that as a profession for once. All I do is teach and I have started teaching my friends from Form 4. Parents should let their children become what they want to become.

“Some of them will become great instrumentalist, artists. To the glory of God, I discovered my talent and I went for it. My mom also helped me identify myself. That was when I knew I wasn’t dull and I started teaching my sisters and their friends even before I wrote my WASC and they all passed.

“Finally, parents, please, take all your time to give your children good morals. Teach them how to show respect to elders. Teach them to also be humble and above all, teach and tell them that there is someone called God.
