Former Councillorship Aspirant for Ward C1 (Abosan) in lgbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oshinlaja Aina Dauda, has said that his intention, regarding his Councillorship aspiration, was to make laws and policies that would engender developments in his ward and council in general.

The young aspirant, whose aspiration was made unrealistic due to his party’s decision to pick a consensus candidate for the ward and other areas, said that he has accepted the supremacy of the party and that he’s ready to work with its candidate to achieve victory in the coming council election.

He chatted with THE IMPACT during the week.

“Since the party has decided, I have accepted my fate as what God has willed”, he said.

“I will go with the party’s directive. My party, All Progressives Congress, APC, have spoken and I am going along with it with all sincerity.

“ I have no problem with the decision and there is nothing that I can say on the money used in obtaining the nomination form and the one expended during campaign.

“I will leave that to the party’s committee on the election to do what’s the best in the party’s interest. If the party decides to refund the money or not, either way, it is acceptable to me without any problem” he said.

Stating reasons for his aspiration to represent his people, Dauda said:

“The whole essence of my coming out to aspire is purely to serve my people. I want to be a lawmaker and not someone breaking laws”, he told our reporter.

“My plan was to come up with laws that would impact people in my ward and the entire Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA as well as laws and policies that would further engender developments and good living conditions”, he added.

“The nomination money is secondary, but what I want is to be a Councillor and impact positively. I want to give back to the community by using my knowledge and everything that I have to serve and impact on my people and the community.

“I actually prepared a 5 – point agenda to impact on my people but the will of God is that I am not the chosen one.

Speaking on his programmes through which he planned to bring about sustainable developments to his ward and the council at large, the young politician said:

“My intended programmes for my people are Education, Health, Infrastructural development, Securiuty and protection and preservation of our heritage/ culture”

“Those are the topmost priorities that I have carefully chosen to pursue and God willing, I would have pursued them vigorously if I had been chosen as the candidate but the party has made its decision.

“The candidate chosen by the party is a very good sister to me and has been doing wonderfully well for the progress of our party and Community and we have also been working assiduously together to ensure that our party moves forward.

He said that he had since called on his party’s preferred candidate to congratulate her and discussed how to win the election and move the ward forward.

“After she was chosen, I have called her to congratulate her and we have also spoken at length on how to make our ward develop.

“With the plans in place, our party will not only be victorious in the coming local government election but also have a record that has never been set before”, he assured.

“I must say that this my party, APC, has spoken and not any individual. This is not Daini nor Baba Bashorun or Baba Olowu or Senator Seye Ogunlewe, but the APC which is the most populous party”, he emphasized.

He charged the electorate to ensure that they coordinated themselves to create a good atmosphere to vote during the coming local government election.

Oshinlaja also enjoined them to vote for the Chairmanship and Councillorship candidates of his party for further development.
