Igbogbo Beach Soccer Team Show Class, Beat Ijede FC 5 – 2, In Friendly

Igbogbo Beach Soccer Club players in pre – match handshake with their Ijede counterparts before the kick – off of the friendly match match played at the Igbogbo Township Stadium on Saturday.

The team representing the Ikorodu Division in the National Beach Soccer League, Igbogbo Beach Soccer Club, on Saturday, May 8, 2021, showed class as they outplayed their opponents in a friendly match played at the special beach pitch being constructed within the Igbogbo Township Stadium.

The Igbogbo BSC, also called Adeboruwa Boys, beat their Ijede counterparts 5 – 2 in one of the friendly matches scheduled to prepare the team for the second phase of the 2021 National League in KebbI State.

Adeboruwa Boys would be joining Edo HCF, Kebbi, Badagry, Kaduna, Kwara, Smart City and Anambra BSC for the National League matches.

Oluwa Kazeem scored a hat trick in the match which saw the Igbogbo BSC displaying improvement in their technical capacity.

The other two goals came from Dapo Lawson and Aina Afeez, a player  of the Ijede BST who gave the Adeboruwa Boys an own goal.

 Mr Obafemi Abiodun, MON, a gold medalist at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and one of the first players to play 5 – Aside in the World Cup for Nigeria, was on ground to counsel the Adeboruwa Boys as well as gear them to give it their all to get the maximum 9 points in the second phase of the league.

He also charged them to play as a team, listen to their coaches and be disciplined.

“You are not going out there to represent yourself but also your families, town and the Division. If you are not winning for yourself, ensure that you win for your families, Igbogbo and Ikorodu Division that you are also representing.
