Ikorodu FA Releases New Fixtures As 2021 League Season Now To Commence Saturday 23

A new date and fixtures have been announced for the commencement of the 2021Ikorodu Divisional Football League.

According to the Chairman, Ikorodu Divisional Football Association (IDFA), Alhaji Luqman Shonibare, the league will now commence on Saturday, January 23.

THE IMPACT authoritatively gathered that the league was unable to commence on January 15, 2020, as announced last week due to logisticproblems.

Speaking with our reporter, the IDFA Chairman informed THE IMPACT that the issues have been resolved and the league will be starting this weekend.

According to the new fixtures signed by the IDFA Chairman and Secretary, Mr Onasanya – Fajebe Babatunde, Jesus Link FC, Ikorodu, will be hosting Ultimate Villa FC, another Ikorodu team, by 4pm at the football field, Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Ikorodu, for the opening match.

There will be two matches on Sunday, January 24, which will be played simultaneously at two different centres. While Kareem FC of Imota will be hosting UNIZEE FC of Imota at the Imota Community Grammar School, the Cottage FC, Isawo, will play host to Browl FC of Owutu at the Saint College in Isawo to complete the Week one fixtures.

The six teams participating in this season’s league are expected to play five games each in the next five weeks in the first half of the league.

All the matches start at 4pm.
