Crime Reporters, CDC Honour Onyabo Commander, Akogun Lanre With Excellence Awards For Gallantry

The Deputy Commander of the Onyabo Vigilance Group of Ikorodu, Akogun
Olanrewaju Olabinjo, was twice honoured in December 2020 for his outstanding contributions to security situation at the grassroots level.

He was first awarded by the Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN)
with excellence award for his service to mankind and country at the 28th
edition of the group’s annual lecture/award held at the Banquet hall, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos on December 10, 2020.

The Lecture was themed, “Managing COVID – 19 Induced Security Challenges“.

The Onyabo Deputy Commander was honoured alongside other security experts who have equally been playing key roles in safeguarding lives and properties in the country. Among these were Ahmed Iliyasu AGI, CP Hakeem Odumosu, Alhaji Abdulfatai Abolarin Adigun, OC SARS, Lagos, Alhaji Hamisu Lawan, Anti – Narcotics Commander Frank Mba, PPRO, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Bala Elkana, DCP Tunde Disu, Commander, Rapid Response Squad , Lagos and Bode Ohadunni, Assistant Commissioner of Police and others.

Also, the Community Development Committee in Ikorodu Local Government, led by Alhaji Luqman Shonibare, on December 29, 2020, conferred an Excellence award of Gallantry on Akogun Olabinjo Olanrewaju for his service to mankind and country.

Akogun Olabinjo is the Deputy Commander of the Onyabo Vigilance Group in
Ikorodu, a local security outfit that has been tackling the menace of secret
cult groups which have threatening the social and economic lives of residents
of Ikorodu Division.

He is the Field Marshal and the one leading the combat and
intelligence squad of the vigilance group.
