First Baby of the Year: Ikorodu Royal Family Presents Cash, Gifts To Baby Oduwole , Others

His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Kabir Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu and his wife, Olori Kudirat Shotobi, on Friday, January 01, 2021, presented cash and gift items to the first baby delivered on the new year day in General hospital, Ikorodu.

Also benefited from the cash and gift items from the royal family was the mother of the second baby of the year, while others that were delivered of babies on the nee day were equally presented with gift items.

According to the report made available by the lkorodu General hospital, the mother of the first baby of the year, Adebayo Kehinde Oduwole, delivered her baby at 12.08am while Mrs Adebeshin delivered at 1.42am.

The third baby to be delivered in the hospital in 2021 arrived at 10.40am when the monarch and his entourage visited the hospital.

The royal family with Mrs Adebeshin, the woman who delivered the second baby of the year at 1.42am.

Findings also revealed that about four women were in labour as at the time Oba Shotobi was visiting.

Meanwhile, Dr Taiwo Hassan, the Medical Director/Chief Executive Director, General Hospital, Ikorodu, who received Shotobi, his wife, Baales and other important dignitaries on their arrival for  the visit, said that only two babies were delivered prior to the visit.

 “We only have two babies delivered so far today, January 1, 2021. The first baby of the year, Baby Oduwole was delivered at 12.08am while baby Adebeshin was delivered at 1.42am.

 “I have just been informed now that the third baby for 2021 has just been delivered”, he announced to a cheering audience.

Oba Shotobi, addressing the media after the presentation of cash and gift items, said that the gesture was an annual event which has turned to a tradition.

He commended the Medical Director and the entire hospital staff for the care they have been given to the residents of Ikorodu.

While thanking others that presented items to the new babies during his visit, Oba Shotobi also assured that the annual tradition will be sustained.

Mr Adebayo Oduwole, father of the first baby of the year, speaking with THE IMPACT, expressed his happiness for having a new baby and thanked the royal family for the gesture.

“I feel glad, happy and overwhelmed to be a father of this new baby.

“I am very elated that the royal father has visited and presented a gift to my baby as the first baby of the year. I thank the royal family for this gesture. I pray that Ikorodu will continue to prosper under his reign.

The management of the lkorodu General hospital and Rotaract Club also presented gift items to the first baby of the year during the royal father’s visit.
