Mr Shakiru, while addressing the pupils, stated that he left the school 35 years but deemed it fit to return and give back to the school and motivate the pupils to greatness.

“Good morning pupils, I thank the Head teacher and staff members of this school for this opportunity. I left this same school in 1985, that was five years after the creation of the school in 1980”, he recalled.

“My set was the third set to graduate from this school and I thought it fit today, in commemoration of my birthday, to address you and give my token in support of your education and upbringing. Some of us owe it a duty to serve as source of inspiration and motivation for you and if we fail to do that, it may have adverse effects on the larger society”.

He enjoined the pupils to face their studies and develop themselves to attain greatness, while also charging them to be obedient to their teachers and parents.

“Today, I charge you all to face your studies and ensure that you pursue your education seriously so that you can become great in future. It is through education that you can be leaders in various fields of learning”, he charged the pupils.

“You also have to obey and listen to your teachers’ instructions, directives and guidance. It is very important for your development and always remember that this is the school that made you weherever you are tomorrow”, Mr Shakiru stated.

“It is equally very important to state that it is imperative that you should be good children at home. Be obedient to your parents and guardians. Be good at home and be good ambassadors of your families.

“Be good kids and shun any form of bad groups like cultism as well as other engagements that may tarnish your family image and derail your future”, he stated while advising the pupils.

Speaking with THE IMPACT after the session with the pupils and staff of AUD Primary school, Mr Shakiru stated that he deemed it fit to mark his birthday with the pupils as a way of rebuilding the community which, according to him, is morally decaying and its value being eroded.

“Our young ones need to be positively motivated and properly guided. They need us to tell them how to properly channel their intellect and energy into productive and positive use.

“This is how to rescue our society which is presently on the brink of collapse and bring back moral and value into it. They are the future of our society, state and the country at large and it is our duty to guide them. I am just playing my little role through this medium”.

While stating that he intends to make it a yearly event, Mr Seidu also enjoined other privileged individuals to always remember their old schools.
