2019 General Elections: Hon. Benson Polls 42, 563 Votes To Win Ikorodu Federal Constituency Election For Second Term

The incumbent representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives and the candidate of the All Progress Congress (APC)  for the same seat, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, has secured a return ticket to the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly.

He polled 40, 563 votes in the Presidential/National Assembly elections held on Saturday (yesterday) across the 19 wards in Ikorodu Local Government.

Returning Hon. Benson as the winner of the election, the INEC Returning Officer in Ikorodu,  Dr Musa Adebayo Obalola, an Associate Professor, stated that the candidate having returned as the candidate with the highest votes is declared winner.

“I, Dr Musa Adebayo Obalola, an Associate Professor, as the Returning Officer for the election of the House of Representatives , Federal Constituency  held on the 23rd day of February, 2019, hereby state that the election was contested.

“…Benson Babajimi Adegoke, male of APC, has 42, 563 votes …

“That Benson Babajimi Adegoke of APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected”.

With this result, the incumbent representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency has secured another four years to represent the people of Ikorodu division of Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria at the lower chamber of the National Assembly.

Hon. Benson, who is a lawyer and former Secretary, Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC), was first elected in 2015 and won the APC primary in 2018 to contest in the 2019 general elections.

Bakare Ahmed Temitayo, male, AD – 180 votes.

Arinze Chris Ibinayo, male, ADC – 360 votes.

Ijaola Odunayo Oluwaseun, female, CAP – 011 votes.

Ogunsami Ogunsanmi Emmanuel, male, MPN – 024 votes.

Disu Ramota Omotola, female, PDP – 19, 825 votes.

Olayiwola Adams Olawale, male, PPN – 010 votes.

Aremu Benson Atinuke, female, PT – 010 votes.

Nfon Ini Osikoya, male, SDP – 068.

Wumina Oluwakemi, female, YPP – 208 votes.
