AAC Lagos East Senatorial Candidate, Shonubi, Signs NTYTR Peace Accord

Mr Francis Mani Shonubi, the African Action Congress (AAC) candidate for the Lagos East Senatorial seat in the forthcoming general elections has committed himself to peaceful conduct for the elections in Ikorodu and Lagos East District.

 

He joined the growing list of other candidates of other parties across Ikorodu division in signing the Youth Against Violence Accord (YAVA 2019) initiated by the #NotTooYoungToRun (NTYTR) movement towards the peaceful conduct of the forthcoming general elections.

 

The Igbogbo born politician signed the peace accord on Sunday, January 21, 2019,  during a meeting with the members of the NTYTR movement at the Ikorodu Town Hall, Olubi Street, Ikorodu.

 

While signing the accord, Mr Shonubi enjoined the NTYTR members to keep their eyes on the activities of the political actors and their supporters and ensure that they monitor compliance to the YAVA accord thoroughly to the letter.

He assured the movement that his supporters will never engage in any act capable of causing violence before, during and after the general elections.

 

While presenting his electoral agenda to the movement, Mr Shonubi canvassed for support for his candidacy from the youths and the general public.

 

He stated that he will sponsor, support and canvass for reform policies in the areas of education, transportation, power, health, agriculture and tourism.

 

Shonubi also added that he will focus on employment generation, empowerment for youths as well as social interventions for his constituents and others if elected in the February election.

Comrade Samson Bisiriyu, the Coordinator of NTYTR Movement, Ikorodu chapter, speaking at the meeting, thanked the Senatorial candidate for identifying with the group and signing the peace accord.

 

He added that the movement remains committed to getting young people elected into political offices and ensuring good governance.
