Sanai Agunbiade.

To prove this resolve, they openly professed their collective support for  the lawmaker and endorsed his candidacy at his well attended campaign flag off campaign held at the Ikorodu Local Government Open Ground opposite the Post Office, Ikorodu, on Saturday January 19, 2019.

The three Executive Chairmen in Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina, Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government Hon. Adeola Banjo, Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA and Princess Jumoke Jimbo-Ademehin, Chairman, Ikorodu West LCDA, also pledged their supports and openly endorsed the three-term lawmaker.

Speaking on behalf of the aspirants,  Barr. Lekan Ijelu pledged their support for all the party’s candidates in other elective positions in the coming general elections.

“For the election into the Ikorodu Constituency I Assembly seat and other elective positions in the coming general elections, I hereby pledge and declare our collective support for our candidates in APC, starting from the candidate for the Presidential position which is President Buhari, Senatorial position, Hon. Agunbiade and for the Ikorodu Constituency II Assembly position, Hon. Solaja.

“We have made up our minds that we are going to stay with APC because we are loyal party members. We have put all that happened at the primary behind us and ready to forge ahead.

“This party belong to all of us. It’s normal for us to fight but once we resolved, we go back working for the greatness of the party. We have resolved that Hon. S.O.B. Agunbiade, our party’s flag bearer, is our candidate for the Ikorodu Constituency I Assembly seat in the coming election.

“We hereby declare to vote and mobilise massive support for him so that he can record more votes than before in the coming election. Ikorodu Constituency votes in the coming election must be more than ever before”, he emphasized.

Mr Oluwatoyin  Gafaar Bolowotan, the Director of Sports, Babajide Sanwoolu Campaign Group and a former aspirant for Ikorodu Constituency I, also declared his support for Hon. Agunbiade and other APC candidates.

“That was why I was not surprised, moved or disturbed at the outcome of the party’s primary. I tried my best and satisfied my conscience.

“No matter the situation, no parent will honour another person’s child and dishonoured his/hers. APC is our parent and we all belong to the family. It’s not out of place for us to disagree but not to the extent of destroying our party.

“On February 16, We all know our flag bearer for the Presidential election. I implore you all to vote President Buhari, Hon. Osinowo and Hon. Benson for the presidency, Senate and House of Representatives respectively.

“The March 2nd election is very fundamental and critical. Our candidate is our own Opomulero, Hon. S.O.B. Agunbiade.

He then raised Hon. Agunbiade’s hand to openly demonstrate his support and  at the campaign rally in endorsement for the lawmaker to the admiration of the cheering crowd.

Another former aspirant who also spoke at the flag off, Mr Nurudeen Yekinni, popularly known as ‘Nero’ , also called for support for the three term lawmaker and raised his hand to demonstrate his  endorsement for the Ikorodu Constituency I Assembly seat flag bearer.

“This is our party and we cannot afford to allow it disintegrate. After disagreement, it’s now time to come together as a family and support all our party’s candidates.

“It’s only when we work together in unity that we can collectively send our political ‘enemies’ away by defeating them at the elections. We need unity in our party. I can tell you that there is no more fight in our party.

“We cannot say because we have disagreement,  our party should  lose in the coming general elections because if we do, it’s going to affect us a lot. We are better off with a person known to us for a very long term than a new person.

“It is not out of place for us to fight but we just have to manage ourselves. We have no other party to go except to stay and work for the success of APC.
