“This event is organized by members of the Ikorodu Igbo Community Assembly  (Sabo market branch), to commend the administration of our indefatigable and hardworking governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, and to support its continuity beyond June12, 2019”, said Mr Nwabuisi.

“We all have resolved to use this event to endorse Governor Ambode for a second term based on the fact that he has performed extremely well, we can see that everything he has done in Lagos State, no other state has been able to do that.

“His record breaking administration has impacted hugely on every Lagosian, including market women and men, through various people-oriented programmes and projects which were fairly distributed across the state.”

He stated that the governor’s endorsement for second term became necessary because of the exemplary leadership traits demonstrated by Ambode during the illegal demolition of shops and stalls with goods worth several billions of naira at the Block B section of the Sabo market in 2017.

“More importantly, this endorsement became necessary because of the exemplary leadership demonstrated by Governor Ambode during the illegal demonstration of over 700 shops and stalls with goods worth several billions of naira at the Block B section of the Sabo market on May 4, 2017, by some military men over the disagreement we had with some people who had vested interest in the re-development of shops in the section”, he stated.

“Though, the memories of the sad incident are still very fresh in the hearts of those of us affected by the demolition, we have, however, taken solace in the role played by Governor Ambode in ensuring that our interests were protected in the redevelopment plans of the demolished shops and today, most of us have repossessed our shops after reconstruction, courtesy of Governor Ambode’Elections”

“To this end, we have unanimously resolved among ourselves to repay the governor’s kind gesture by massively and unconditionally support his re-election with our votes in the 2019 General Elections”, Mr Nwabuisi assured Gov. Ambode of their supports.

He also called on Igbo community in Ikorodu to ensure that they get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) so that they can use it to re-elect the governor come 2019.

“Lagos has witnessed tremendous growth and development that positioned Lagos as not just the center of excellence but also the pace setter in terms of good governance and dividends of democracy. The administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu played the critical role of laying the foundation of a Modern Lagos and on whose foundation Akinwunmi Ambode is working to actualize a Smart Lagos”, Prince Ogunleye stated.

“He envisions a Lagos that will compete favorably with cities like New York, Paris, London and even Dubai in terms of efficient transportation system (road, rail and water), security, infrastructure and human capital development. Igbo elders at the rally

“Lagos under Akinwunmi Ambode as an emerging market, has become the financial hub and preferred investment destination in Africa which in the last 2years alone attracted more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) than it did in the last 15years.

“It is no gainsaying that if Ambode could achieve all of these in 3 years, he will do so much more if given another term in office as the Governor of Lagos State. With continued support by Lagosians, especially at the polls, I have no doubt that Ambode will overwhelmingly defeat his opponents in the fourthcoming election in 2019.

Hon. Taiwo Longe, Chairman of APC, Ikorodu LGA, while speaking with THE IMPACT, stated that the Igbo community have made good decision in supporting the re-election of Gov. Ambode.
