OLIC4: Olamide Redefined Concert’s Business, Art In Nigeria

Olamide, the ‘Wo’ crooner, thrilling his fans during the OLIC4 which held at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere on Sunday.

Lagos and indeed, the Nigerian music industry experienced a new dimension to the business and art of concert with ‘Olamide Live in Lagos’  concert which was held on Sunday, December 17,2017, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere, Lagos.

 

About 15,000 fans were in attendance to watch Olamide and other music acts as they put up mind blowing performances which would remain the talk of the town for a very long time.

 

The concert, which was powered by the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, recorded the distinguished presence of Lagos State Commissioners, top State Government functionaries, brand executives as well as Nigerian A- List celebrities in the entertainment industry.

 

Hosted by Bash and Jimmy, fans enjoyed nostalgic music from Baba Frayo, Daddy Showkey, Terry G, Olu Maintain, Durella while the likes of Teniola, Efe, Mz Kiss, Temmie Ovwasa, Dele, MeReal, Ugly, Marvelous Benjy, MsKiss, TJAN, Ola Dips,  Zoro, Efe, Fefe, Blackah, WavyTheCreator, Lach, Airboy gave the ecstatic fans new vibes.

 

There were also sensational performances by Tiwa Savage, Sound Sultan, Skales, Terry Apala, Ycee, Lil Kesh, Solidstar, Small Doctor, Viktoh, Reminisce, Skuki Iceberg Slim and Slimcase.

 

Popular comedians, Woli Agba and Ushbebe ensured there was no dull moment with their rib cracking jokes, while DJ Mewsic, Dj Real, DJ Enimomey and DJ Kentalky increased the tempo of different sounds and vibes to ensure they were loud enough to be heard across the length and breath of the venue.

 

The  concert, however, climaxed with the much awaited performance by the star preformer of the concert, Olamide, who was specially ushered onto the stage by the energetic crowd with wild excitement and deafening noise which enveloped the entire venue.

 

The ‘Wo’ crooner stormed the stage with his  dancers whose colourful dresses and energetic dance generated uproar from the crowd.

 

Backed by his band, Olamide, rendered songs from his old and new albums while Phyno later joined him on the stage to performed their collaborated songs to the delight of the crowd.

 

The concert ended on a very high note as Olamide performed his hit song, ‘Wo’,  which has become an anthem of sort among many Nigerians since its release.

 

Olamide’s fans left the Teslim Balogun arena fulfilled, having witnessed the beginning of a paradigm shift in choice of location for concert to ensure that the crowd, no matter their number, is conveniently accommodated while  security of lives and properties can still be guaranteed.

 

OLIC4 did not only changed the entertainment game, particularly as it regards concert, in terms of crowd, venue and security, it also introduced festival-like ambience with the provision of a food court which had variety of fast food meals from notable brands like Indomiee Noodles, Domino’s Pizza, Cold Stone Confectionaries, Shawarma & Co alongside a Beverage Village.

 

The ticketed concert started with the distribution of ready-to-eat meals to the first 2500 tagged fans by KoKun Foundation, a non-governmental organization known for eradicating hunger and poverty amongst Nigerians.

Their partnership with OLIC 4 availed them the opportunity  to reach out to more Lagosians.

 

The Concert exceeded the expectations of many fans with the efficient security measures put in place and the professional delivery of 2,500 security personnel from The Nigerian Police, The Nigerian Army, LASTMA, The Nigerian Civil Defense, The Lagos State Neighborhood Watch and private security agents.

 

The 4th edition of Olamide Live In Lagos was supported by Kwese Free Sports, Monster Energy Drink, Red & Axla, Pentagon, Western Lotto, FIRS and Hennessy.

The concert also had full media coverage by MTV Base, Pulse.Ng, Wazobia Tv, government and privately owned online as well as print and broadcast media houses in the country.
