State NYCN Chairman Gives One Month Stewardship Account

-Pledges never to forsake Lagos youths

Comrade Olalekan Biliaminu Sulaimon-Oba, the of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter.

 The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter, Comrade Olalekan Biliaminu Sulaimon-Oba has given his account of activities and achievements in the last one month.

 Oba-led State NYCN Executive Council was elected and constituted last month at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.

 In a release signed by the State NYCN Chairman  during the week, he further pledged his commitment and dedication to the advancement of youths in the state.

 The release, titled, ‘Our 30 Days’, read thus:

 “OUR 30 DAYS

“It is exactly a month today that the Lagos State, which is above common standards birthed the historic moment, which saw the emergence of a new generational leaders, who are steering the affairs of brilliant, intellectual, exposed and knowledgeable young citizens in the State for the next 4 years”

“It was a twist of rain and storm as the story of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter witnessed an unprecedented transition. It became more interesting and political not because Lagos State is the cradle of NYCN but for the sensitivity and importance attached to the office of the number 1 youth in Lagos State”

“Despite the Covid-19 pandemic that has ravaged economic and socioeconomic activities of the world, young intellects with brilliant mindsets still competed vigorously to clinch the coveted seats of the Youth Council. We moved from the SEED agenda to the YOU Agenda and finally to the Revitalization Agenda. We bombarded the social media space with our campaign promises till the very day our fate was decided”

“We all hoped on the sun to shine on us after the downpour and yes we all put in our very best and to the glory of God, it was crowned with success”

“The representatives of the Lagos State youths chose their leaders in a peaceful contest with soaked boots. That very day, I saw young people, who were truly ready to change the narratives of the NYCN, which is the reason the present executives are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the pains and risk taken on the 4th of July, 2020 at Teslim Balogun Stadium transforms to a collective gain”

“Each time, I remember the Oath of Office administered on us when sworn in, it reverberates my mind never to forsake the Lagos State youths”

“In the last one month, we have done a lot in the areas of image building and convincing the public to once again believe in the NYCN mantra and objectives against all odds”

“We are working passionately with youth organizations to change the narratives and deliver a Council we all will be proud of”

“We are currently developing a database and information website for NYCN Lagos State Chapter”

“ We are prepared to represent the Lagos State youths at the Lagos State Consultative Forum towards having a robust input in the 2021 budget and action plans”

“We already have our plans for the International Youth day, which we will implement to the admiration of everyone”

“We have begun courtesy visitations to media houses, seeking collaborations towards achieving a huge success”

“We are determined to run a transparent and accountable administration, hence, we have constituted a Disciplinary and Ethics Committee, comprising tested and trusted young minds, who will ensure compliance to work ethics and financial discipline”

“We have designed a template for our Directorates to operate effectively and efficiently towards achieving the set objectives”

“My pledge to the over 10 million youths in Lagos State is to rededicate and our operations to the protection and guidance of their interest in the State and National polity”

“We are committed to listening to your suggestions and observations as we move forward on the journey to greatness”

“Undoubtedly one month is gone and the clock keeps ticking but the good news is that we are close to it and we shall get there”
