Again, the leading music act in Nigeria and Africa, Olamide is set to shut down the Centre of Excellence in a very big way that would have a reverberating effects come Sunday, December 17, 2017.

This time, he is partnering the Lagos State Government to achieve an historic concert that would be the talk of the town for sometime.

 

With Olamide Live In Concert 4 (OLIC4), the hottest music act in Nigeria music industry is planning to crown a successful year and celebrate the festive period with his teeming fans.

 

The concert, which is billed for the 25,000 capacity Main Bowl of the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

 

According to the concert’s organisers, many streets in and around Ojuelega and Surulere would be shut because of the expected crowd.

 

Olamide and his team are looking forward to breaking boundaries with OLIC IV as they set to stage a concert that has never been witnessed before in the history of concert organization in Nigeria and the rapper has urged his loyal fans to anticipate the surprise of a lifetime.

 

According to his media managers, “By all standards, OLIC I was an absolute success, OLIC II was a massive shut down of Lagos and Nigeria while OLIC III made history as one of the biggest concerts ever”.

 

Speaking at a press briefing, Olamide said that the concert, like previous editions, would be organic, adding that he would give his best for the concert alongside his crew.

 

 

 

He expressed confidence that his fans would come out in their thousands for the concert and that he would ‘shut down’ the stadium as he believes the “streets have always been loyal to him”.

 

“The connection I have with my people is genuine, it is organic and anyone who identifies with me will be present”, he said.

 

 

 

The hiphop artiste assured that some of his colleagues, including top artistes, would turn up to support him as performers at the concert.

 

 

 

“My colleagues that have supported me in OLIC 1,2 & 3 will be there to perform,” Olamide assured.

 

 

 

 

 

Also speaking, Olamide’s Manager, Alex Okeke, assured that the concert would live up to the expectations of the people.

 

 

 

“We promise to stage a concert that will  forever be in the minds of many people. Lagos is number one in entertainment in Nigeria and Africa.

 

 

 

“Bringing OLIC to a more spacious place like Teslim is a good thing for us; it’s about taking it to another level,’’ she said.

 

 

 

Meanwhile the Acting Commissioner for Tourism/Special Adviser on Arts & Culture, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, has revealed that the Olamide Live In Concert falls within the Ambode’s  government’s plan of promoting tourism, arts and sports sectors in Lagos State.

 

“The concert falls within the vision of Lagos State Government to promote entertainment and using it to drive tourism in the state”.

 

 

 

“At the inception of Ambode’s administration, he promised some cardinal economic drive to boost the state economy which is “T.H.E.S.E’’ (Tourism, Hospitality, Entertainment, Sports and Excellence).

 

 

 

“Olamide’s show falls within this and we are aware of the crowd that this show will attract to Lagos and maybe expecting more guests from all over the world next year.

 

“We believe that the creative industry will provide the needed entertainment because they can provide the needed revenue to support the government”.

 

 

 

“All plans is now concluded to have a hitch-free concert for everyone, they should only come and enjoy the show,’’ she said.

 

 

 

“We have been supporting entertainment for some time now, people can see our intervention in supporting the Nollywood and others and now Olamide has bought into the vision,’’ she said.

 

 

 

Akinsola said that part of the government’s initiatives at supporting entertainment to boost the economy of the state also included Arts Theatres, with four almost completed.

 

 

 

“Part of the government’s efforts at supporting entertainment industry is the construction of six Arts Theatres across the state and I can assure you that four of them will be ready by the first quarter of next year”.

 

“The arts theatres are evenly distributed in the state and there is no particular area left out in the distribution”.

 

At the well-attended press conference on the concert, the LASTMA representative, who also responded to questions from the media, announced that some roads in and around the venue of OLIC4 would be shut in order to experience hitch-free concert.

 

The police representative also assured the teeming fans that would be gracing the concert of safety of lives and properties.
