“We defected based on lack of internal democracy in PDP” Dr Finnih

Dr Oluyomi Finnih at has adduced lack of internal democracy as reason why he and other Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftains in Lagos State defected to All Progressive Congress (APC).

Former Lagos State Chairman, Elders Council of PDP stated while speaking on behalf of others who formally defected to the ruling party in the state. Others are Alhaji Rafiu Jafojo, former Deputy Governor, Lagos State, Asiwaju Segun Adeyemi and others.

Finnih speaking on behalf of others said, “We defected based on lack of internal democracy in the PDP and our aim is winning the presidential election with APC,” Finnih said.

The former Chairman, PDP Elders Council also stated, “We took the bold decision because we see the party (APC) as a prosperous party” and added that the defectors had come for the unity of the party and not to cause division.

While welcoming them, Chief Henry Ajomale, the State Chairman of APC, said they had made a good decision in joining the ruling party and promised that the party would be fair to them.

The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN), did not hide his joy when he said that the party was glad to accommodate the new members.
