Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, Executive Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, and a political son of the highly revered political leader, elder statesman and a chieftain of Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Baṣorun has celebrated the sage on his 88 birthday anniversary.
In a tribute commemorating the octogenarian’s birthday today, Aroyewun lauded his benefactor as an immortal Baṣorun who has been nothing but a loving father, mentor and source of strength to him.
“On this auspicious day of your birthday celebration, my heart swells with profound gratitude and respect as I join countless well-wishers to celebrate a true icon of all seasons and an immortal phenomenon, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Baṣorun. Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Baṣorun has been a loving father, a trusted mentor, and a steady source of strength through life’s joys and challenges.”
Vivacious Omo’ba Hammed Aroyewun kept the tenor of the tributes on high still, “You are a pillar of wisdom, a champion of progressive ideals, and a guiding light whose leadership continues to inspire generations of public servants across Lagos State and Nigeria. Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Baṣorun embodies the finest virtues of leadership, integrity, vision, humility, and service. Sir, your contributions to Lagos State’s development and the political stability we enjoy today are immeasurable.”
He commended the octogenarian’s connection with his roots and his impacts and exemplary life which he said has been characterised by wisdom, humility, integrity, character, service and commitment.
“Baba, you were born and raised in Igbogbo, and your love for it has always been evident in how you continue to give back. From your early days as a pioneer staff member of the Central Bank of Nigeria, where you rose to Deputy Director, to your service as Secretary to the Lagos State Government, your role on the Governance Advisory Council, and your calling in the house of God, you have served with wisdom, humility, and integrity.”
“You taught us that leadership is measured not by noise but by character, and that service is a lifelong commitment. Many of us stand stronger and taller today because you gave us the chance to learn from you and build upon your example.
For me, you are much more than a political leader, you are my father and mentor. The wisdom you dispense is often concise and always very powerful; it continues to be the compass guiding my steps in my personal life and in the administration of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. I am humbled to commit to upholding the progressive ideals and integrity you personify, “ Aroyewun said.
The council boss who said that he would be eternally grateful to the octogenarian elder statesman, thanked him for his continuous support, belief and trust in him and congratulated him on his 88 birthday anniversary.
