Ikorodu – born Lagos Television cameraman, Shakiru Adeleye has again clinched the gold medal to emerge champion in the men’s table tennis event at the 2026 Lagos State NUJ Media Games.
Adeleye defeated Opeyemi Badmus of the Ministry of Information and Strategy Chapel in two straight sets, winning 11–7, 11–5 to secure the gold medal.
The competition was held at the Lagos NUJ Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, on Wednesday, October 7, bringing together journalists and media practitioners from across the state.

The feat made it the fourth time Adeleye will be winning the championship.
Speaking after his victory, Adeleye expressed appreciation to the organisers, NUJ executives, fellow participants and his supporters, attributing his success to God’s grace.
He also described the annual media games as an avenue for promoting unity, healthy competition and camaraderie among journalists, promising to continue working hard to maintain his performance.
