Over 200 applicants were, on Monday, screened by the Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), for the 2026 Bursary Scheme which is part of the council’s educational support initiatives.
Ijede council authority had, about two weeks ago, called for application from indigenes and residents of the council in public tertiary institutions across the country.
As part of the process was the screening which was successfully held on Monday, for over 200 students that applied for the bursary this year, which took place at the Council Secretariat Hall.
The Executive Chairman, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, represented at the exercise by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Kabir Femi Kareem, said that the screening was carried out to ensure that the scheme reaches genuinely deserving students, in line with the administration’s commitment to easing the financial burden on parents and supporting education in the community.
The council chairman further commended the applicants for their turnout and orderliness.
