Kith & Kin International College (KKIC) and Kith & Kin British Academy (KKBA) have, on Monday, introduced Crochet Classes in a quest to give their pupils an all-round educational development.
The initiative is part of the efforts of the schools to equip students with practical and creative skills beyond the classroom. The new skill programme is being championed by the School Executive Director, Chief (Mrs.) Kemi Olusanya.
The initiative is designed to expose students to the art of crochet, while developing important personal and cognitive skills, including creativity, hand-eye coordination, patience, concentration, resilience and confidence.
The school said the programme would also provide students with a valuable practical skill that could potentially develop into a lifelong vocation and source of livelihood.
According to the school, the initiative forms part of its commitment to providing well-rounded and quality education that combines academic learning with practical skills relevant to students’ personal development and future lives.
The introduction of crochet classes further reinforces the institution’s emphasis on nurturing resourceful students equipped with skills to thrive beyond the conventional classroom environment.
