LASUSTECH Wins Prestigious CIBN Award

‎Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has been honored with the Best Linkage Academy Institution Award at the 19th Annual Conference of Banking and Finance, organized by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN).

‎The event was held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, from September 8–9, 2026.

‎The award, which recognizes excellence among universities, polytechnics, and other institutions offering Banking and Finance programs in Nigeria, saw LASUSTECH emerge as the overall winner.



‎ Other nominees includes The Polytechnic Ibadan and Kaduna Polytechnic, with Kaduna Polytechnic named first runner-up and The Polytechnic Ibadan as second runner-up.

‎Representing LASUSTECH, Dr. Abiola Lawal, FCIB, Associate Professor in the Department of Banking and Finance, proudly received the award on behalf of the University.

‎The presentation was made by Mr. Moruf Oseni, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Wema Bank Plc, who also served as Chairman of the Conference Planning Committee.

‎In his remarks, Dr. Dele Alabi,  FCIB, National President and Chairman of Council of CIBN, alongside Mr. Akin Morakinyo, HCIB, ACIB, Registrar of CIBN, commended the University’s management and staff for their unwavering support and contributions to the Institute.

‎CIBN concluded that LASUSTECH’s recognition is a well-deserved achievement, celebrating the University’s commitment to advancing the growth and development of Banking and Finance education in Nigeria.
