The representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rep. Babajimi Benson, has continued to partner the Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) authorities through facilitation of developmental projects, the latest being the approval of educational infrastructure and expanded access to digital skills.
The projects – a new state-of-the-art school building and a new modern Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Centre, were announced by the three – term lawmaker on Friday. Both projects are expected to be delivered before the end of 2026.
The school infrastructure project is expected to address critical facility gaps affecting the learning environment and educational outcomes of students within the LCDA, the new ICT Centre will provide young people and other community members with access to digital literacy and technology skills needed to participate effectively in Nigeria’s rapidly growing digital economy as well as the global space at large.
During his visit that further reflects the strong working relationship between the federal legislator and the LCDA administration, Rep. Benson also had the opportunity to observe firsthand some of the infrastructure needs identified as priorities by the administration of the Executive Chairman, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun.
As a legislator committed to delivering dividends of democracy in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, Hon. Benson noted that the projects align with the broader objective of ensuring that communities across Ikorodu Federal Constituency are equipped with the educational and technological tools and skills needed for future growth and prosperity.
Chairman Aroyewun commended Hon. Benson for his continued support and the numerous development projects he has facilitated across Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.
The Chairman noted that the latest approvals further demonstrate the value of purposeful collaboration between elected representatives and local government leadership in bringing empowering development projects and facilities closer to the people.
Since assuming office, Omo’ba Aroyewun has maintained a proactive approach to development planning, stakeholder engagement and partnership-building. His administration has sought opportunities to attract interventions that complement the LCDA’s own programmes and development priorities consistently.
The Council boss noted that upon completion, the projects are expected to improve learning conditions for more than 500 students currently affected by infrastructure deficits; provide digital skills training for more than 200 youths and community members annually; and create opportunities for technology-driven employment and enterprise.
Aroyewun also added that the projects will increase access to modern learning tools and digital resources; and further strengthen Igbogbo/Baiyeku’s position within Lagos State’s broader development agenda.
