The Education Secretary, Local Government Education Authority (LGEA), Ikorodu Local Government, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, has lauded the brilliance of Master Adeshina Iyanuoluwa, a Primary Six pupil of Ayangbure Primary School in the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA(, Ikorodu Local Government, who will represent Lagos State at the national level after emerging as the overall best in Aroko Writing Competition.
Young Iyanuoluwa won the Aroko (a symbolic message or coded message or silent letter) Competition at the state level organised by the Ẹgbẹ Akomolede Ati Asa Yorùbá Naijiria, Ẹka Ipinlẹ Èkó (Association of Yoruba Teachers, Culture and Literature of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter).
Alhaji Odumbo lauded the pupil who emerged winner at the finals of the competition, held at the Baptist High School Obanikoro in July, when he was presented to him officially by Yoruba teachers in his office.
The Education Secretary described the feat as a proud one for the LGEA and example of how great the attachment attached to cultural learning is.
“A proud moment it is for the Local Government Education Authority, Ikorodu, as Adeshina Iyanuoluwa, a Primary Six (6) pupil of Ayangburẹ Primary School, Ikorodu has done us proud with his mastery of Àròkọ writing, emerging as the overall best in Lagos State at the Àròkọ Competition organised by Ẹgbẹ Akomolede Ati Asa Yorùbá Naijiria, Ẹka Ipinlẹ Èkó (Association of Yoruba Teachers, Culture and Literature of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter).”
“Iyanuoluwa’s feat is a shining example of how dedication, cultural pride, and academic excellence can converge to produce greatness. His brilliance in Àròkọ writing reflects the resilience and creativity of our pupils in Ikorodu, and we are immensely proud of him.”
The Education Secretary, also emphasised that Iyanuaolua’s emergence as a state ambassador is a reflection of the support system being given to tutors and pupils.
”Iyanuoluwa is now billed to represent Lagos State at the National Level. This is a moment of pride not only for Ikorodu but for the entire Lagos State education family. His journey reminds us that when pupils are supported and teachers are empowered, excellence becomes inevitable.
