IBLCDA Chair To Cabinet Members, Councillors: Officials Vehicles Are To Make Your Job Convenient, Serve People Very Well

Omo’ba Hameed Aroyewun, Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA unveiling official vehicles presented to members of his cabinet and Councilors

The Executive Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), has informed members of his cabinet and honourable councillors that were presented with official vehicles that the means of transportation are to make their job easier and to serve the people that elected them effectively.

Aroyewun gave the charge on Monday after presenting the eight vehicles to government functionaries in the council, at the IBLCDA Secretariat in commemoration of his One Year in Office as the Executive Chairman.

Hon. Sanni Okanlawo, Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government Administration & Chieftaincy Affairs and members of his committee including Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), witnessed the presentation.

‎While the Vice Chairman, Barr. Ade Ayeni received a Lexus Jeep, the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Olowu and Secretary to the IBLCDA, Alhaji Quddus Oduntan, were presented with Highlander jeeps.

The five Councillors led by Princess Basirat Banjoko as the Council Leader, also received Highway jeeps as their official transport vehicles.

“We are here today to present official vehicles to our Councillors, the Vice Chairman, Chief of Staff, and other management staff, for easy movement, and to make their job easier and more convenient.

“We are one big family and we should continue to maintain that. We should also have at the back of our mind that the purpose of electing us is to serve the people and we must continue to serve the people. We must listen to them; listen to their aspirations and their needs and demands. And, as much as possible, try to meet up with their demands.”

Mr Abisogun Igbasan, Head of Works & Infrastructure Department, IBLCDA, while congratulating the beneficiaries added that the vehicles are meant to make the cabinet members and Councillors work effectively.

“These vehicles are not just assets, they are tools for effective representations, oversight and service delivery across the nooks and crannies of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.

“As HOD Works, I assure you that all vehicles have undergone full mechanical check, duly documented, and each beneficiary will also receive a full documented maintenance schedule from our department.”

The Council Leader, IBLCDA Legislative Arm, Princess Basirat Banjoko, thanked the chairman for providing the local council legislators with official vehicles to aid their work especially in reaching out to the people more effectively.

“We want to say a very big thank you to our Chairman, Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, for deeming it fit to give us these official vehicles at this time. He definitely knows that we have a lot to do, most especially when it comes to reaching our people at different parts of our wards. This is going to make our journey smoother, and ease our affairs.”

Alhaji Quddus Oduntan, Secretary to the IBLCDA, was also full of commendations to the Chairman as regards the gifts presentation which coincided with his birthday.

“I feel honoured and delighted for today’s presentations and fortunately, it falls on my birthday. So, today, I’m celebrating a lot of things. I feel delighted and I feel honoured. In fact, it comes as a surprise, because my chairman, Omo’ba Olalekan didn’t inform anybody about it. He does his things in surprising ways.”
