-Thanks Adeboruwa, Igbogbo for recognition after service
The former Tutor -General/Permanent Secretary, Education District II, Chief (Mrs) Anike Adekanye, will on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2026, be conferred with a honorary chieftaincy title of Yeye Agbasaga of Igbogbo Kingdom by His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade I, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo.
Chief (Mrs) Adekanye, will be honoured by the Adeboruwa and the entire Igbogbo Kingdom alongside with other distinguished personalities, who have made landmark contributions to the development of Igbogbo Kingdom and promote the kingdom, next Wednesday, as part of the activities commemorating the 10th coronation anniversary celebration.
During her service to Lagos State, the honorary traditional awardee was very close to traditional, political and other stakeholders in Ikorodu Division, especially the Adeboruwa and made the division her second home with laudable achievements across schools during her tenure.
In the conferment signed by the Adeboruwa, the royal father stated that Mrs Adekanye is being honoured for her contributions to community and the nation at large.

“This conferment is in commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of my coronation. It is a special consideration to incorporate this well-deserved recognition among the series of landmark for my anniversary.”

It is my very sincere wish to applaud your service rendered over time to our community and nation, and it is hoped you will be further encouraged to continue in the honourable disposition to benefit the kingdom“, Oba Kasali stated.
Speaking with THE IMPACT, Mrs Adekanye thanked the Adeboruwa, Adeboruwa -in -Council and the entire people of Igbogbo Kingdom, for the honour bestowed on her.
She stated that he will never take it for granted, while also appreciating Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, former Minister of Works and Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, former Head of Service, for their roles in the conferment of the Yeye Agbasaga title.
“I thank my dear Kabiyesi and father, HRM Oba Semiudeen Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, for his father’s love and interest. His interest in me is not in doubt at all since my service days and I truly appreciate Alaiyeluwa’s support during my service and after.
“It is indeed an honour that will not be taken for granted that our dear royal father and the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Adeboruwa -in -Council and the entire people of Igbogbo, deemed it fit to consider me for the title and honour.
“I thank the traditional institution and the people sincerely and I wholeheartedly accept the honour,” Mrs Adekanye said.
The former TGPS also extended special appreciation to Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) and former Minister of Works and also Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, Chairman, Oba Adeboruwa 10th Anniversary Planning Committee.
Mrs Adekanye also gave thanks to God for allowing her to have a successful service to Lagos State and humanity in general to the extent of receiving recognition months after she had retired.
“TO God be the Glory, even after my retirement from the service, people still remember my GOOD DEEDS AND LEGACIES as incomparable.
“Hard work pays; team work brings in BIG ACHIEVEMENT; selfless service to the community leads to special recognition. Respect the people in the community you are serving; always listen to their requests and answer wisely and carry them along in your plans and policies.”
While dedicating the chieftaincy honour to God and all those that have supported her, she urged serving public officers to never be afraid to bring innovation into their work and pray to God always for guidance.
She emphasised the need for being a good role model with achievements and legacies.
