Igbogbo Loses Political, Community Leader, Prince Adeleke Soberu

‎-Aroyewun, Cabinebt, Councilors pay condolence visit

‎A prominent community, political and religious leader in Igbogbo Kingdom, Prince Adeleke Soberu, is dead.

‎He was 62.

‎Prince Soberu, who was the Chairman, Ward C1, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, until his death, Tuesday night, was also an Elder of the United African Methodist Cathedral Church (Eleja), Igbogbo.

‎He was popular within the traditional, social and youthful circles and well respected personality for his frank, truthful and cordial relationship with others.

‎THE IMPACT gathered that Prince Soberu died at the General Hospital Ikorodu after he was rushed to the medical facility after a brief illness.

‎‎Meanwhile, family members, sympathisers and prominent Igbogbo personalities have been paying condolence visits to the late Soberu’s Odofin Junction home.

‎Among earlier visitors was Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, the Executive Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, who paid his condolence visit within hours of returning back to the country.

‎He was accompanied by the Secretary to the Local Government, Alhaji Quddus Oduntan, his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Wasiu Olowu, Special Adviser on Special Duties, Mr Taofeek Ipaye, Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Mr Alliu Akinyemi, Special Adviser on Youth, Comrade Abdulsallam Tijani among others.

‎Councillors Basirat Banjoko, Council Leader, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA Legislative Arm who represents Ward C1 and Saidat Oba Odeyemi, the representative of Ward C3 were present.

‎In his condolence message, Aroyewun expressed his sadness over the death of his Ward Chairman and lauded his commitment to the development of the council.

‎”I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of our Ward C1 Chairman in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.

‎”He was a dedicated servant of Igbogbo/Baiyeku, he gave selflessly to his constituents, his presence was a steady reminder of what committed leadership looks like.”

‎The council chairman also states that the late party leader will be greatly missed.

‎”We have lost a father/brother/Uncle who understood that governance is service, not ceremony. The void he leaves in ward C1 will be felt deeply, and his memory will guide our continued work for this community.

‎”My heartfelt condolences to his family, ward C1 members and Excos, the entire APC family in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA and all who knew his quiet strength.

‎During our reporter’s visit, a section of his compound is already being dug for his interment.

‎THE IMPACT also gathered that his Service of Songs will be on Thursday, 16th while his burial service at the UAMC Cathedral Church , Igbogbo holds on Friday, July 17th with his interment following immediately at his home.
