General Hodpital Ikorodu Emerges 2026 Public Secondary Healthcare Facility of the Year

The General Hospital, Ikorodu, under the leadership of Dr. Taiwo Hassan, the Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO), has emerged as the 2026 Public Secondary Healthcare Facility of the Year.

The award was received on behalf of the hospital by Dr. Hassan, alongside members of the SafeCare Team, at the 12th National Healthcare Excellence Awards (NHEA), held at the Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Friday, June 26, 2026.

The event, which celebrates institutions and individuals who have significantly advanced Nigeria’s healthcare system, was themed “Innovation, Local Manufacturing, and Digital Transfomation in Healthcare”.

The hospital announced the feat on its social media handles today.

“We are proud to announce that on Friday, June 26, 2026, General Hospital, Ikorodu, was honoured as the National Y2026 Public Secondary Healthcare Facility of the Year at the prestigious National Healthcare Excellence Awards (NHEA).

“This remarkable achievement reflects our commitment to delivering safe, accessible, patient-centred, and high-quality healthcare services to the people of Lagos State and beyond”.

The hospital dedicated the award to hardworking staff, while extending its appreciation to the Lagos State Government for its supports.

“This prestigious recognition belongs to every member of the GH Ikorodu family. We sincerely thank our staff for their professionalism, compassion, resilience, and unwavering commitment to excellence in patient care.
