Committee Unveils Weeklong Activities For Oba Semiudeen Kasali’s 10th Anniversary As Adeboruwa Of Igbogbo Kingdom

The planning committee for the 10th year anniversary celebration of His Royal Majesty Oba Barr.)( Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Emugoriade I, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, on Saturday, unveiled programmes of activities for the first decade of the royal father’s emergence as the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom.

Programmes for the celebration were released at a press conference held at the Oba Johnson Fatola Pavilion, Adeboruwa Palace.

Prince Adesegun Ogunlewe, Chairman, Central Planning Committee for the anniversary presented the activities lined – up for the celebration starting Sunday, July 19 to Sunday, July 26, 2026.

“Today is a moment of gratitude and celebration for us as a people. Exactly ten years ago, on Monday, July 25, 2016, a beloved son of this soil, a distinguished legal practitioner, seasoned civil servant, and a man of deep humility ascended the traditional throne of our forebears as the 8th Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom. That man is our Royal Majesty, Oba (Barrister) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade I.

The committee chairman who was a former Head of Service, Lagos State, informed that the celebration started in earnest on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, with free JAMB CBT training for over 500 students in Igbogbo, sponsored by the Kabiyesi and the special unveiling of Adeboruwa 10th coronation anniversary official commemorative Aso-Ebi, which held on Tuesday, 28 April 2026.

Prince Ogunlewe described the reign of Oba Kasali as a decade of transformational leadership.

“His reign has been a period of renewal, advancing peace, youth development, and steady progress and prosperity. As a testament to Kabiyesi’s unwavering focus on infrastructure, education, and amplifying the voice and presence of Igbogbo within the wider affairs of Lagos State, through the excellence of Igbogbo indigenes, the Igbogbo kingdom has experienced visible development, attracting and welcoming people from near and far.

“The purposeful leadership of our 8th Adeboruwa has also contributed to the elevation of Igbogbo’s sons and daughters to various strategic positions within the public and civil service of Lagos State, further strengthening our community’s influence and representation.”

He listed the completion of the ultra -modern Adeboruwa Palace, and strengthened government presence in Igbogbo, as some of the milestone achievements under the reign of Oba Kasali in the last 10 years.

According to him, the event proper begins Sunday, July 19, with traditional prayers at the Adeboruwa Palace, this will be followed by Medical Outreach, Awareness Rally on Sexual Gender Based Violence, and Novelty Match on Monday.

On Tuesday, July 21st, there will be Distribution of Palliative items, Visit to Orphanage Homes, Ayo Olopon & Draught Games and Public Lecture. Conferment of Chieftaincy titles comes up on Wednesday.

Thursday, July 23rd, will witness the Market Men & Women Day, Presentation of Certificates to Market Leaders/Heads in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, CDC/CDA Day and Paying of Homage to Adeboruwa by Clubs, Associations & Others

Jumat prayer is scheduled for Friday, July 24th, at the Igbogbo Central Mosque, Igbogbo, while the Grand Finale of the 10th anniversary celebration holds on Saturday, July 25th, at the Adeboruwa Palace.

Thanksgiving Service at the Methodist Church, Igbogbo, will hold Sunday, July 26th.

The Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom, Odofin Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, also speaking commended the leadership of Oba Kasali highlighting his cordial relationship with the Adeboruwa -in – Council

Tracing the emergence of the king, Odofin Onasanya, said the Adeboruwa long before his emergence has been serving the kingdom.

He emphasised that Igbogbo has been witnessing progress and development under his reign, adding that his 10th anniversary celebration deserved a grand celebration.

Also present at the press conference were Omo’ba Hammed Aroyewun, Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA represented by his Vice, Barr. Ade Ayeni, Chief Jelili Oduntan, the Balogun of Igbogbo, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, former Commissioner for Tourism, Arts & Culture and the Vice Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Mr Waheed Kasali, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Tertiary Education, Mr Babatunde Afuwape, General Secretary, Central Committee, and Alhaji Adekunle Sulaimon, Chief Executive Officer, Sula Bread among others.
