As part of the efforts to mobilise Lagos residents towards mass registration for the Permanent Voters’ Card (PVC) and full participation in the 2027 General Elections, Lagos State Baales Forum is set to hold a sensitisation exercise in Ikorodu.
The sensitisation is being organised by the Ikorodu Division Baales Forum under Chief Akeju Olugbenga Idowu, Baale Alakan and Chief Lookman Awomodu, Baale Liwe Awomu, Ikorodu, as Coordinator and General Secretary respectively.
The initiative themed, “Community Engagement on PVC Registration Sensitisation Exercise: Pre & Post 2027 General Elections” is slated to hold at 10:00am at Ikorodu Town Hall on Friday.

Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State and Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 General Election is the Special Guest of Honour, while Chief Abu Jelili Ododo, the Baale of Ijaodoro and Oba -elect of Ijaodoro who is also the Chairman, Lagos State Baales Forum, is the Chief Host and Dr Seyi Bamigbade is the Convener of the sensitisation programme.
Speaking with THE IMPACT on Wednesday, Chief Lookman Awomodu, General Secretary, Ikorodu Division Baales Forum, said that the initiative is to support the ongoing efforts at mobilising Lagos residents to register and obtain their PVCs and also be fully part of the process leading to the 2027 General Elections where they are expected to vote massively.

Chief Awomodu emphasised it is important for Lagosians and people of Ikorodu to use the forthcoming elections to show their electoral strength, and Baales across the state are taking up the responsibilities of mobilising residents.
He added that it was not just a collection of PVCs, but also stated that the sensitisation is also going to show reasons why Lagosians must come out en masse during the elections to cast their votes.
According to Chief Awomodu, members of the public are invited to the sensitisation programme at the Ikorodu Town Hall on Friday.
