As part of community development initiative and efforts towards supporting Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun’s administration in Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), members of the Achievers’ Crew, have made financial donations to the development of the council’s primary healthcare system.

The support, which is to strengthen the health initiative and make the Free Optimal Wellness Outreach reach more residents of the council was greatly appreciated by the council boss, staff of the health department and hundreds of residents at the programme.

The donations were made on behalf of the Achievers’ Crew.

Members of the Achievers’ Crew led by Mr Olugbenga Oduniyi, had on Saturday gathered at Oreyo Grammar School, Igbogbo, venue of the second edition of the free health programme which is a cardinal point of Aroyewun’s agenda for Igbogbo people, to give their support to the council chairman who incidentally is the Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT), of the group.

While Dr Nurudeen Oshinlaja, a researcher at the Cardiff University, United Kingdom and member of the Achievers’ Crew BoT, pledged 1000 BP which is over N1miliion to support the IBLCDA’s health infrastructure, another chieftain of the crew also donated another undisclosed sum to support the sustenance of the free health initiative.

Dr. Oshinlaja, the scholar who played major roles in developing the Ona Ogo GLORY Agenda, while commending the initiative as a practical demonstration of people-centred governance, emphasised that members of the Crew attended the programme to support the council administration’s programme.

According to him, the administration’s social intervention strategy extends beyond healthcare, with plans underway to introduce additional programmes focused on food security, social welfare, and educational support for residents across the LCDA.

“Health outreach is only one component of a broader vision to improve the quality of life of our people. More interventions are being developed to address other critical areas affecting households within our communities,” he noted.

Chairman, Achievers’ BoT, Mr Oduniyi, also speaking lauded Omo’ba Aroyewun for the health initiative which offers residents free tests, treatment and drugs.

He urged residents to support the administration to benefit more while stating that the programme will be sustained for more people to benefit.

He stressed the importance of good health while enjoining more residents to take advantage of the free outreach programme.
