Mariam Akinloye

Former Minister of Works and a chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Sen. Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe, representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep Babajimi Adegoke Benson and Dr. Steven Anu’ Adesemoye, a senior lecturer with the Mass Communication Department, Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), are among eminent personalities honoured by the socio – political and developmental organisation – the Achieves’ Crew, at its 2nd Bi – Annual Retreat.
The retreat which was held between Thursday, June 18th and Saturday, June 20th, 2026, at N.S. Sho Hotel, Imota was themed, “Achievers Crew: Navigating the Next Decade for Impact”, with Dr. Adesemoye, delivering paper on the sub theme workshop topic, “Unspoken Battle: Understanding Men’s Mental Health”.

The trio were presented with the Achievers’ Appreciation awards for being part of the retreat in capacities as Chairman of the occasion, Guest of Honour/Chief Launcher and Guest Speaker and for their contributions to the development of the Crew and Ikorodu Division at large.
Others honoured were eminent personalities who have supported the Crew since its inception and for their contributions to the development of Ikorodu Division – Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, Chairman, Imota LCDA, Hon. Nurudeen Solaja, former representative, Ikorodu Constituency II, Dr. Saheed Oladapo Ibikunle, Permanent Member, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LSUBEB), Prof. Olumide Metilelu, Commissioner, LASIEC. They received the Achievers’ Merit awards.

Dr. Nurudeen Oshinlaja, a researcher with the Cardiff University, UK and chieftain of the Crew’s Board of Trustees (BoT) presenting the awards said that the honorees were recognised by the body for support for its progress and their contributions to the development of Ikorodu Division.
On behalf of the BoT, Elders’ Council and the general members of the Achievers’ Crew, Dr Oshinlaja commended the honorees for their contributions and resourcefulness.

While describing them as eminent personalities that the organisation will continue to look up to, he also urged them to see the awards as a call to do more for the Achievers’ Crew and Ikorodu Division.
Receiving their awards, honorees thanked the socio -developmental group for the honour bestowed.
