‎-Enjoins Imota residents to promote democratic principles

The Executive Chairman, Imota LCDA, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, has stated June 12 which is the national Democracy Day is a strong reminder of the collective struggle for a united, peaceful country and hope for a better Nigeria.

‎Hon. Benson Ayodele, in a statement commemorating the annual celebration, also charged residents of Imota on the need to promote principles of democracy at the local level by always conducting themselves peacefully, tolerate one another and participate fully in civic duties.

‎”Today, as we celebrate Nigeria’s Democracy Day, let us remember the sacrifices, courage, and resilience of the heroes who fought tirelessly to secure the democratic freedoms we enjoy today.

‎”Their unwavering commitment to justice, equity, and good governance laid the foundation for the democratic journey we continue to pursue as a nation.

‎”June 12 remains a powerful symbol of our collective struggle, unity, hope, and determination to build a better Nigeria through genuine democratic principles.

“It is a day to reflect on how far we have come, appreciate our progress, and renew our commitment to strengthening the institutions and values that sustain our democracy, ” he said.

‎In his charge to residents of Imota LCDA on the need to promote democracy from the local level, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, stated:

‎”As residents of Imota Local Council Development Area, we all have a role to play in protecting and nurturing democracy by promoting peace, tolerance, civic responsibility, and active participation in governance.

‎”Together, we can ensure that the sacrifices of our democratic heroes were not in vain.

‎”As we commemorate this historic day, I urge all residents of Imota LCDA to remain steadfast in supporting the initiatives of our administration that promote development, inclusiveness, and progress across our communities.

“Together, let us continue to build the Imota LCDA of our dreams.

‎Once again, I wish all residents of Imota LCDA and Nigerians across the country a happy Democracy Day.”
