The representative of Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA) has described his landslide win at the Ikorodu Constituency II Assembly primary election as a resounding expression of love, trust and confidence of by the people of his constituency in him.
AMA won the election to emerge as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for another term on Wednesday.
He recorded over 33, 696 votes to defeat his opponent, Hon. Olakunle Aliasau Matti who managed to poll 114 votes.
While appreciating their overwhelming support, in a statement after his victory, AMA said the votes from people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku, Ijede and Imota Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) constitute a clear message for his continuity of impactful representation.
“I return all glory, honour, and adoration to Almighty God, the Creator of the universe, the Author of destiny, and the Giver of grace. The same God who designed and created us in His wisdom has, by His divine mercy, destined me to serve the good people of Ikorodu Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly at a time such as this. Truly, God is good, faithful, and gracious.
“Yesterday’s (Wednesday) primary election was not just a victory; it was a loud and resounding expression of the love, trust, and confidence the people of Ikorodu Constituency II have in our shared vision and service-driven leadership. With an overwhelming mandate of over 33,000 votes across the constituency, our people spoke with one united voice for continuity, progress, and purposeful representation.”
The state lawmaker expressed his shock at the voting pattern in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA where his opponent did not record a single vote.
“Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA further amazed me beyond words. In an unprecedented show of solidarity and support, my opponent could not secure a single vote in any of the four wards within the LCDA. Such an extraordinary outcome humbles me deeply and reinforces my conviction that true leadership is rooted in genuine service, accessibility, loyalty, and commitment to the people.
“Indeed, I remain profoundly grateful to be regarded as a massively loved servant-leader by my people.”
He listed some political leaders, council chairmen, royal fathers and other major stakeholders for their support.
“With a heart filled with profound gratitude, I sincerely appreciate our revered fathers and distinguished leaders whose guidance, prayers, and support made this victory possible. My special appreciation goes to the esteemed GAC Leader, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun; Distinguished Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe; my fathers and mentors, Chief Kaoli Olatunji Olusanya, Distinguished Senator Adetokunbo Abiru; and my highly esteemed Boss and leader, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, whose exemplary leadership and steadfast belief in me remain invaluable.

AMA furthered in his appreciation:
