-Says consensus candidate must be accepted by all aspirants

The Divisional Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ikorodu Division, Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani, has announced that the primary elections for all the contested positions will hold in 11 Wards in Ikorodu Constituency I.
Otunba Tijani stated during a parley with the six aspirants for the Ikorodu Constituency I seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly by the APC apex leaders in Ikorodu Constituency I held at the party’s secretariat along Obafemi Awolowo Road in Ikorodu on Monday.

Unveiling the venues, Otunba Tijani listed the 11 political wards in Ikorodu Constituency I and the venues for the primary elections.
Ikorodu Central LGA: Ward A1: Etunrenren Primary School, Ikorodu, Ward A2: Ita -Elewa Stadium, Ward A3: Jamatual Islammiyyah Primary School, Ikorodu, Ward A4: APC Secretariat, Ikorodu and Ward B5: Gberigbe Primary School, Ikorodu.
Ikorodu North LGA: Ward B3: Isiu Town Hall, Isiu; Ward E1: Odogunyan Town Hall; E2: Ilado Family Hall (Parafa); E3: APC Secretariat, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye Road, and E4: Olorunda Town Hall.
Ikorodu West LGA: Ward A5: APC Secretariat, Oja -Oba.

Otunba Tijani, who was a former Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, also informed the APC leaders and aspirants that the party in Ikorodu is allowed to present consensus candidate where aspirants are more than one, but all the aspirants must agree to the consensus without any dissention.
“We are allowed to pick a consensus candidate among the candidates by the state party, but all the aspirants must be in the know and accept the consensus candidate for such to be valid.
“If one aspirant out of 10 aspirants vying for a particular position rejects the consensus, such consensus is invalid and they must go to the primary elections,” the party chairman explained.

He also assured the aspirants that there will be an opportunity for them to appeal the outcome of the primary elections if they are not satisfied.
While emphasising that only the card carrying members of the APC will be allowed to participate in the primary elections, Otunba Tijani warned against disruption of the process by anyone.
