-Seeks re – election to Assembly

The lawmaker representing Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), has returned to the stakeholders and the electorate in his constituency to seek their renewal of his mandate three years after he was elected to represent them in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
But, AMA is not just returning with a sense of entitlement to seek re -election, rather he is armed with proof of what he has been able to achieve in terms of lawmaking, representation and oversight functions.
In a statement sent to THE IMPACT, AMA, who obtained the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and officially kicked -off his re -election campaign today, gave his stewardship account on educational intervention, employment facilitation, and road interventions and many more.

“My fathers and mothers… My brothers, sisters, and the great people of Ikorodu Constituency II… I am reaching out to you today with a heart full of gratitude, a record full of remarkable results, and a future full of possibilities.
“Three years ago, you entrusted me with your mandate. You did not just vote for me, you believed in me. You gave me your trust, your hope, and your expectations.
“Today, I have returned, not with promises… But with proof.
“When I came to you in 2023, I made a commitment: That representation would no longer be about titles but about impact.

“And by the grace of God and your support, we have turned that commitment into visible transformation,” AMA stated emphatically.
He said that he prioritised education with several initiatives and also facilitated construction of many blocks of classrooms.
“We said education would be a priority, and we acted. Through AMA GIANT BRAINS, we placed computers in the hands of our brightest students, preparing them for a digital future.
“Through ZERO DROPOUT, we went into our communities and took our children back to school — because no child in Ikorodu Constituency II should be left behind.
“Every year, we remove financial barriers by providing JAMB and GCE forms to our students.

In the area of facilitation of new blocks of classrooms, AMA stated: “We facilitated blocks of classroom in: Reri Secondary School, Lajo Junior Secondary School, Luwasa Secondary School.”
He also renovated some school buildings with his personal earnings.
In the area of empowerment, the lawmaker said that he supported small scale business owners with several millions; empowered skilled youths and secured employment for over 100 of another set of youths.
“We said we would empower our people — and we did. We distributed tens of millions of naira to women across our constituency, strengthening small businesses and families.

“We trained youths and empowered them with tools, turning job seekers into job creators.
“We helped over 100 of our people secure jobs in the Lagos State Government, not by chance, but through deliberate effort, recommendation, and follow-through.”
AMA also in stating his intervention in roads across the three council areas in Ikorodu Constituency II, said that he impacted over 20 roads in his three years of representation.
“We said we would improve infrastructure, and we delivered. We intervened on over 20 roads across our communities.
“From Ijede to Igbe, from Oreta to Imota; our roads are no longer stories of neglect, but symbols of progress.”

On power, the lawmaker confidently stated that he has lighted up several communities: “We said we would address power challenges, and we acted. We purchased and installed transformers across communities, restoring electricity and reviving businesses.
“We delivered solar solutions to Ayetoro and Oreta; bringing light where there was darkness.”
In the last three years, Ikorodu Constituency II has had its fair share of security challenges like the rest of the country especially in the area of kidnapping and cultism, a situation the lawmaker said has been overcome through his legislative interventions.
Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun also played critical roles in joining other members of the House in making laws shaping Lagos State. Some of the laws he sponsored and co -sponsored were Electricity Law, Local Government Administration Law, Appropriation Laws, Lateef Jakande Academy Law and Lagos Geographic Information Service Law among others.

Declaring his aspiration for a second term, AMA said that his aspiration was never about him but about the people who gave him the mandate three years ago.
“My people… This journey has not been about me. It has been about us.
“Every road fixed… Every child returned to school… Every woman empowered… and Every youth uplifted… Is a testimony of what happens when leadership meets purpose, and purpose meets the people.”
He said that he wants the renewal of his mandate to continue the good work as the representative of Ikorodu Constituency II for the next four years.
“Today, I am reaching out to you again. Not as a stranger seeking opportunity… But as a servant leader seeking continuity.

“There is still more to do. More roads to build. More youths to empower. More opportunities to create. More lives to transform.
“And so, with humility in my heart and confidence in our shared journey… I, Hon. (Dr) Abiodun Moshood Aro (AMA), hereby declare my intention to contest for a second term as your representative in the Lagos State House of Assembly.”
He said that if he is re -elected he would consolidate his performance in his first term:
“This is not a campaign built on promises. It is a movement built on performance. Let us continue this journey together.
“Let us consolidate our gains. Let us expand our impact. Because the best of Ikorodu Constituency II… is still ahead of us. Thank you.”
