Hon. Benson Leads Council Officials To Monitor Environmental Sanitation In Imota LCDA

Hon. Sunday Benson, Chairman, Imota LCDA, his Vice, Princess Abisoye Jimoh, and other council officials flagging -ofd the re – introduced monthly exercise in Imota LCDA on Saturday.




‎The Executive Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, on Saturday, April 25, 2026, alongside other council officials, monitored the environmental exercise in various wards. markets, and also inspected  drainage channels.


‎The chairman’s team moved from ward to ward and street to street within the council, to assess the the participation of residents, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment.


‎ Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Benson emphasized the importance of environmental cleanliness as a collective responsibility. He noted that maintaining a hygienic environment is not only essential for public health, but also critical to sustainable community development.



‎Hon. Benson further commended residents who have consistently adhered to sanitation guidelines, describing their efforts as commendable and worthy of emulation. He stressed that behavioral change at the grassroots level remains key to achieving long-term environmental sustainability.

‎The Head of Environment Department in the council, also speaking, reiterated its readiness to intensify enforcement and awareness campaigns, while also emphasizing that routine monitoring exercises would be sustained to ensure compliance across all wards in the LCDA.

‎During the monitoring tour, residents were sensitized on proper waste management practices, with officials urging them to take advantage of designated waste collection points and avoid actions that could lead to flooding or environmental hazards, especially during the rainy season.
