Representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Rep. Babajimi Benson, has again, put smiles on his constituents’ faces as he secured employment opportunities for 22 youths in various federal government agencies and parastatals.

Beneficiaries drawn from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, received their letters of employment at a presentation ceremony held at Rep. Benson’s Constituency Office, Ikorodu, with majority of the beneficiaries being females.

According to Mayor Muhydeen Sanwoola, the Director -General of iCare Foundation, the operational arm of Rep. Babajim Benson’s working team, 20 of the beneficiaries were selected through the icarejob.ng platform – an initiative designed to create a robust database of qualified youths within the constituency. The platform allows young people to submit their credentials for consideration whenever employment opportunities arise through facilitation efforts.

The remaining two beneficiaries were part of a unique and spontaneous employment gesture by the lawmaker during the October 19, 2025 edition of the Apo Anu Food Distribution, where they were randomly selected for automatic employment consideration.

Speaking during the presentation, Rep. Benson attributed the employment opportunities to the Renewed Hope Agenda of the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“I am not the one giving these jobs. This is the impact of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has consistently assured Nigerians that his administration will create opportunities for young people to rise and transform the fortunes of their families. What we are witnessing today is a reflection of that promise in action.”

In his remarks, the Director-General of the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwoola, expressed satisfaction with the process of selection, noting that transparency remained a cornerstone of the selection.

He emphasised that none of the beneficiaries could attribute their success to personal influence or patronage, as all successful applicants went through the same application process via the icarejob.ng portal.

“This is a process that worked,” he noted. “Everyone applied through the same platform, and the outcome reflects fairness and credibility. That is what gives this initiative its true value.”

The beneficiaries, visibly elated, expressed profound gratitude to President Tinubu and Rep. Benson for the opportunity, pledging to justify the confidence reposed in them through diligence, professionalism, and unwavering loyalty to the nation.

The event was attended by key stakeholders, including Mrs. Azeezat Apanisile, the First Lady of Ikorodu North LCDA, whose presence further underscored the importance of the initiative to the local community.

Observers have described the development as a practical demonstration of how strategic facilitation, when combined with transparent systems, can deliver real impact – bridging the gap between government opportunities and the people who need them most.
