Ijede LCDA Chair Presents N5.12b Appropriation Bill With Focus On Infrastructure, Human – Capital Development

The Executive Chairman, Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo -Alogba, has presented a budget proposal for 2026 to the worth of N5,122,254,038.08 for the consideration of the honourable councillors.

According to the chairman, the budget proposal tagged, “Budget of Infrastructural and Human Capital Development”, is aimed at infrastructural development in all wards of Ijede and also towards the socio – economic advancement of its people.

The appropriation bill was presented to the 6th Legislative Arm of the Council at the newly commissioned Yeye Fausat Gbadebo Legislative Building on Wednesday. The special session was witnessed by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Femi Kabir; apex political leaders, the Community Development Committee (CDC), religious leaders, and the council’s management team.

In the proposed budget for 2026, the Ijede LCDA’s budget projection for the Federal Statutory Allocation is N771,816,161.88, Value Added Tax N4,109,841,327.30, Other FAAC RELATED ALLOCATIONS N98,448,548.90 and Grants N10,000,000:00.

A sum of N37,148,000.00 is expected from the Internally Generated Revenue and N95,000,000.00 State Co-ordinated Revenue.

Also, in the Appropriation Bill presented to the councillors, the Personnel Cost is put at 1,118,654,240.78, while the Total Overhead Cost is 1,688,386,610.36, Social Services Expenditure Capital 120,000,000.00 and Other Capital Expenditure 2,043,027,472.39.

Hon. Gbadebo – Alogba, during the presentation, said that the proposed budget was a product of wide consultations with critical stakeholders and meant to make the impacts of the council felt in every area of the council.

“Honourable Leader, the budget in the tune of 5,122,254,038.08 has been prepared in conformity with extant rules and regulations, and in tandem with existing realities after wide consultation with critical stakeholders. Thus, it is an all -inclusive document that captured the developmental aspirations of every component of our local government. I mean the various wards.

“To this extent therefore this budget has linked our infrastructural development and socio- economic advancement hence christened: Budget of Infrastructural and Human Capital Development,” she said.

The chairman speaking further on the focus of the 2026 budget, said that it was designed to address poverty, improve infrastructure, health and the educational sector among others.

“Distinguished members of the house this budget is aimed at strengthening the resolve of this administration to vigorously pursue the infrastructural development of the local Government between current year and the next fiscal year.

“It also aims to serve the people of ljede so that they can (positively) feel the impact of government by providing necessary amenities for all the communities that consist of the council. These targets include: Poverty Alleviation, Infrastructural Development, Health and Educational Advancement amongst many others.”

While urging residents of Ijede to continue to support the government through the delivery of their civic duties to enjoy more impacts, Hon. Gbadebo-Alogba also charged the honourable councillors to give the bill an accelerated deliberation and passage.

“We also enjoin our people to continue to carry out their civic responsibilities at all times to enable us to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy.

“On this note, Honourabie Leader, I solicit for your support and cooperation for speedy passage of this appropriation to hasten the domestication of various bye laws as these bye laws serve as catalysts for enhanced budget implementation.”

During the proceedings, the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Basirat Kehinde, expressed appreciation to the council chairman for the newly constructed and commissioned Yeye Fausat Gbadebo Legislative Building.

She noted the lawmakers’ readiness to conduct a thorough and constructive review of the Appropriation Bill in line with statutory duties and approve projects that will deliver maximum benefit to the people of Ijede LCDA.

Members of the council’s legislative arm are expected to start deliberation on the Appropriation Bill after returning from their official trip to Abuja.
