Council Polls: Labour Party Campaign Train Mobilises Electorate Across Wards in Ikorodu North LCDA

-Chairmanship Candidate gets party flag, pledges responsible govt

Ahead of the July 12 elections across the 20 Local Government and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) across Lagos State, the Labour Party (LP) campaign team in Ikorodu North LCDA, on Wednesday, moved round the council to mobilise residents for its Chairmanship candidate, Hon. (Dr.) Oladeji Oluniyi Akinola, and his running mate, Hon. Isiwat Olaide Adeoye.

Dr. Akinola and the Vice Chairmanship candidate had earlier been presented the party’s flag by the party’s Chairman, Engr. Oloja Abudulazeez, at the LP secretariat beside Alaka Event Centre/Petrol Station, Sabo, Ikorodu.

Presenting the flag, Engr Oloko congratulated the candidates, stating that, “It is a symbol of unity, hope and the total liberation for the people and the forward movement of Ikorodu North LCDA.

“Please, proceed and deliver Ikorodu North to the Labour Party. The party has so much confidence in you, because you are a good leader. We believe that come July 12, you will be elected with all your Councilors”, he said.

The LP Chairman also charged residents across the six council areas in Ikorodu Division, to vote for the LP and its candidates for positive change and good governance.

Thereafter, the party’s campaign train moved to mobilise support across the four political wards in Ikorodu North LCDA, navigating Sabo, Ojokoro/Eyita, Jubilee Estate, Okegbegun, First gate, Lambo – Lasunwon, Odogunyan, Itamaga, Parafa and Isiu.

Dr. Akinola, speaking at the Lambo – Lasunwon palace where he addressed head of the family, Chief Akeem Adekunle Shodipo and other representatives of the family and community, sought the assistance of the land owners and the entire residents, for his party in the coming elections.

As a resident of the community who has contributed immensely to its development, the LP candidate assured residents of a good and effective administration if he is elected.

In a chat with the LP flag bearer, he said that the official presentation of his party flag to him has spurred him on in his determination to serve the people of Ikorodu North LCDA.

While also saying that the moment serves as a powerful catalyst, driving him to push harder and strive relentlessly toward the goals, Dr. Akinola also expressed his gratitude to his party and constituents.

“I have a deep appreciation for the unwavering trust and support from both the party and constituents that fuels our commitment to succeed”.

He said that his administration, if elected, would be responsive and accountable to the people, and urged residents of the council to vote for him as the chairman.

“As the Labour Party candidate for Ikorodu North LCDA, I am committed to fostering a responsive government characterized by accountability and integrity. The residents can anticipate a democratic governance approach that prioritizes their needs and promotes civic engagement.

“To the residents of Ikorodu North LCDA, I call on you to seize your opportunity to vote on July 12. Together, we will shape the future of our community. Make informed choices and champion what matters most to you. Your vote is powerful and it counts!”, he said.

The LP Chairmanship candidate in Ikorodu LG, Qs. AbdulaAzeez Awesu who was also part of the campaign train, appealed to residents of Lambo – Lasunwon community and entire Ikorodu North LCDA, to vote for credible and articulate candidates like Dr. Akinola, his running mate and the LP Councillorship candidates.

In the campaign entourage were Councillorship candidates of the party and representatives of various ethnic groups.
