Support has continued to mount for the Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), as he was officially presented to the Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom, Odofinn Tajudeen Alade Duduyemi Onasanya, by the Abosan Youth Forum which pledged total support for his candidature.

The candidate was presented to the highly revered traditional Chief and important community leader on Sunday, at his home in Itun – Abosan in Igbogbo, by a delegation led by Prince Gbenga Oduniyi, former President, Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), now the Igbogbo Youth Forum (IYF).

Receiving the candidate, the traditional leader expressed his joy seeing the young politician emerging as candidate of the APC, adding that Aroyewun is not just a progressive youth, but that his father also contributed immensely to the development of Igbogbo in his lifetime.

“There is no joy greater than witnessing the fruit of your labour. The day we selected the Chief Imam, you saw how the youths responded. The youths have much to contribute to the development of our community, and we must continue to discuss how to maximise the potential.

“With progressive youths like HOA, we must give full support. Your father contributed immensely to the development of this community, and today, you are reaping from that legacy.

“We have entrusted the political leadership of Igbogbo to you, and there’s a lot of work to do. But I believe in you”, Odofin Onasanya said.

“Sir, you have stood by us over the years, and I can boldly say you are the strength behind us. The role that we all played in the creation of this LCDA is undeniable, and now is the time for the Abosan community to reap the fruits of that labour.

“We are promising you responsive and divine governance”, the candidate assured.

Aroyewun also took out time to acknowledge the genuine support of a former Chairmanship aspirant, Mr Shakiru Seidu. He thanked him for his support during the primary elections and commitment to the collective vision.

Speaking earlier, Prince Oduniyi, emphasized that the visit was both symbolic and necessary.
