In continuation of its political engagement, the Concerned Ikorodu Division Youths (CIDY) and the Real Initiatives are set to stage the third political debate for Chairmanship candidates in Ikorodu Local Government.
The LG Elections Debate is scheduled to hold at 3:00 pm at the Ikorodu Town Hall on Sunday, June 29, 2025.
According to the Convener of the debate and the founder, Real Initiatives, Mr Abolaji Oluwaseun Elesho, the debate is only focusing on the Chairmanship candidates in Ikorodu Local Government (Ikorodu Central LG), and the three candidates scheduled to participate in the debate are: Prince Adedayo Ladega of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mrs Saidat Odofin of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Qs. Abdulazeez Adekunle Awesu of the Labour Party (LP).
According to him, the three flagbearers have been duly invited and they are expected to honour the invitations to share their plans for the people and how they intend to develop the Ikorodu Local Government.
He said that the format of the debate has also been shared with the candidates to enable them prepare ahead.
In addition, Elesho said that the organizers are also open to ideas from the candidates, parties and members of the public.
Also speaking, Kunle Adelabu, Coordinator, Concerned Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative (CIDY) and the debate’s co – convener, also stated that representatives of political parties, youths and community – based organizations, security agencies and Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) are expected to grace the debate.
Recalled that the Concerned Ikorodu Division Youth and the to Real Initiatives successfully organized the Ikorodu Division Legislative Debate in 2023 and 2019.
