The Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the forthcoming local government elections in Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), has stated that the newly appointed Education Secretary (ES), Local Government Education Authority, Ikorodu LG, Mr Taiwo Odumbo, earned his new position through proven leadership qualities, dedication to work and his innovative ideas in his previous places of work.
Odumbo received his letter of appointment from the Executive Chairman, Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LSUBEB) on Wednesday and resumed at his duty post in Ikorodu the same day.
He was until his appointment as the ES, the Principal, Lagos State University (LASU) International School, Ojo, where he served meritoriously for nine years. He had earlier served in the same capacity at the De Young Comprehensive College, Ikorodu for 10 years.
Aroyewun extended his congratulations to the new ES in a statement today.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to my respected Egbon, Mr Taiwo Odumbo on the well-deserved appointment as the Education Secretary of Ikorodu LGEA.
“I consider this appointment a resounding confirmation and reward of your sincere passion for the development of education and your exemplary commitment to advancing academic excellence in Ikorodu Division.
“It will not be out of place to say that your proven leadership, dedication, and innovative approach to education evidenced significantly while serving as Principals of De-Young School and LASU International School respectively singled you out for this position,” he noted.
The chairmanship candidate also expressed confidence that Odumbo will bring his experience as a thoroughbred educational professional and human resource expert to bear on his new duty post:
“As you take on this noble responsibility, I am confident that you will bring your characteristic diligence and ingenious approach to bear in shaping the future of our children and the entire education system.
“The whole division agrees that this is a round peg in a round hole, Congratulations once again sir!”
