-As company officials discuss scope of work with Adeboruwa palace

As assured by the representative of Ikorodu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), the HiTech Construction Company, today (Monday) resumed work on Igbogbo/Bola Tinubu/Igbe Laara Road, after several weeks of abandonment of the project.
The construction equipment of he construction company, including heavy duty machines were seen on site by our reporter, working between the Agarawu, Adeboruwa Palace and Club 24, earlier today.
Hon. Aro had, in a publication by THE IMPACT last Friday, said that the required funds for the completion of the project, which started eight years ago, have been released to the contractor.

The lawmaker said that the Accountant General of the state confirmed to him that the contractor has been mobilised with the necessary funds required for the project’s completion. He also confirmed that HiTech Construction acknowledged the receipt of the funds.
Recall that hundreds of houses were demolished to give right of way for the redevelopment of the Igbogbo/Bola Tinubu/Igbe Laara Road in December 2017, and the construction proper started the following year.
Eight years later, the construction of the road has dragged on due to the inability of the Lagos State Government to release funds to the contractor coupled with inflation which has also caused an increase in the cost of construction materials, thereby, making the initial sum budgeted unrealistic.

The intervention by Hon Aro Moshood Abiodun since his emergence as the representative of Ikorodu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, in engaging the executives played a major role in the appreciable level of progress attained by the project so far, and the eventual release of the entire funds needed for its completion.
There have also been interventions by the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, HRM (Oba) Barr. Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa – in – Council, and Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, GAC chieftain among others.

Meanwhile, the HiTech officials were at the Adeboruwa palace on Monday, to brief the HRM (Oba) Semiudeen Kasali, his chiefs and chieftains of Igbogbo Development Association (IDEA), on the scope of job that they would be embarking upon.
The company official informed the Kabiyesi that the ongoing construction work on the left side of the road coming from Ebute/Igbogbo burial ground will be their first priority for completion.
They added that it is after that is concluded that the construction work would move to the right side of the road.

HiTech officials also informed the palace that the Afa bridge will be extended from 8metres to 12 metres subject to the approval of the redesigned plan by the state government.
Equally, the company also informed that they are expecting approval for the three pedestrian bridges to be built at Oreyo Grammar School, UAMC (Eleja) Primary School and Ansar – Ud – Deen Primary School, Igbogbo.
In all, HiTech assured the royal father and other stakeholders that in view of the release of funds, they are going to expedite action on the project and make significant progress in the next six months.
They also sought the cooperation of the palace and the entire community in making their work seamless.
